Blackpink’s Rose was spotted in NYC days before Met Gala

The Met Gala is one of the biggest fashion events in the world—to say the least. This is the night where high profile celebrities and personalities gather to showcase extravagant outfits in support of the year’s theme.

Now, After being postponed in 2020, the Met Gala is back and will be livestreamed for the first time on September 13 at 5:30 PM New York time, so Filipinos can watch it and get updates about the event tomorrow on the morning of September 14. The theme of this year is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.

The guest list still remains a top secret, however there are rumors of those who are in attendance, and some of them are Met Gala newcomers. The event was reported to focus on young talent this time as it aims to reach a wider market by inviting influencers, social media personalities and athletes.

Now, speaking of young talents, celebrity photographer, Miles Diggs posted a photo of the Blackpink member whom he spotted in New York City after a fitting at Saint Laurent.

According to the photographer’s post, the fitting took place days before the Met Gala, potentially confirming that she will attend this year. If so, Rose will be the first female K-Pop artist to attend the prestigious event. The first K-Pop artist to make Met Gala debut was Super Junior’s Choi Siwon and Psy in 2013, followed by Rain in 2015, and the last was Lay of EXO back in 2019.
