Has it really been 7 years since MEGA embarked on this milestone moment of an effort with Anne Curtis in Brazil? Ever since that breathtaking slice of life atop the mysterious Incan citadel of Machu Picchu, the adventures have taken many life forms, charting destinations the world over. With only the oft-used phrase “where to next” guiding us before embarking on any of these beyond-the-border undertakings, we have seemingly woven a tapestry of tales that unravel to explain the human condition on a larger scale.

From South Africa to the rest of Europe, the wonders of the world have served as awe-inducing backdrops to tell the stories of our anointed ones, worthy stars who defined their respective context and circumstance. With a gallery of visuals, worded expositions, and memories to last a lifetime, looking back the Making MEGA timeline sure makes us miss seeing these stars. Since serving us high-fashion and striking beauty looks, as well as letting us in on their lives no-holds-barred, they truly have made their mark. While these are beautiful chapters in our vibrant history, we are left wondering, what have they gone on to do since gracing their covers for Making MEGA? With a lot that has changed, we tracked down what currently keeps them busy.

Anne Curtis

Ever since her groundbreaking Making MEGA adventures in South America, Anne Curtis has gone on to further dominate the local entertainment landscape in television, film, and social media. Amassing recognition of the tangible and priceless sort, she has also built a beauty brand to her name, blk Cosmetics. She has also gone on to get married to Erwan Heussaff in New Zealand. As of the moment, the star is currently taking a leave from the limelight in her hometown in Australia where she is preparing for her nearing delivery not too long from now. And just in time for her birthday, the soon-to-be mom shared her maternity shoot to her millions of followers.

Julia Barretto

With left and right projects, Julia Barretto has been pretty busy since coming together with Maja Salvador, Kathryn Bernardo, and Erich Gonzales in South Africa. Proving her acting mettle and prowess on television and in the movies, especially with highly successful Love You To The Stars And Back and Between Maybes, she has  just wrapped up her zombie film Block Z with ex-beau Joshua Garcia and director Mikhail Red. Right after her recent successes, Julia’s next project is on the works where she is set to stretch her skills even more, playing two characters in the upcoming iWant series, I Am U.

Maja Salvador

Who can forget her lighthearted moments in the South African reserve? After Maja Salvador’s many hit TV series such as Wildflower and recently, The Killer Bride with Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador, Maja has just recently started her YouTube channel, Meet Maja, where we get to see more of her travels, food crawls, dance challenges, and quality time with her S.O. She has also ventured into making music, even collaborating with Thai popstar Tor+Saksit on a single. More than that, Maja Salvador has staged successful concerts, judged on World of Dance Philippines, and even won as best actress at the Asia Contents Awards 2019 in Busan, South Korea.

Erich Gonzales

Keeping herself busy, Erich Gonzales has diversified her presence in the industry. Apart from her talked about turns in Two Wives and The Blood Sisters, she has been making it big in YouTube as well. The Making MEGA in South Africa cover star spends most of her time traveling locally and internationally, filming her adventures for the digital platform. Recently, Erich toured around destinations like Prague, Vienna, and her hometown in Davao. Aside from her presence onscreen, Erich Gonzales is proving to be a well-rounded artist as she worked with Marco Maurer (brother of her Suddenly It’s Magic co-star Mario Maurer) on his single Won’t Let Go, for which she lent her vocals and directed the video as well.

Kathryn Bernardo

As if most fitting, Kathryn Bernardo joined the growing roster of local celebrities launching YouTube channels with a video mentioning her Making MEGA in Iceland journey with Daniel Padilla. In Everyday Kath, you will get to see snippets of her life beyond the silver screen and social media with clips of her trips to Europe, Iceland, Tokyo, and Coron. With growing number of endorsements, Kathryn recently became the new face of Pepsi, PayMaya Philippines, and Fresh Philippines. Of course, this won’t be complete without making mention of her prolific works in film with notable mentions of The Hows Of Us and the critically acclaimed, Hello, Love, Goodbye.

Vice Ganda

As expected, Vice Ganda’s MMFF 2019 entry, The Mall The Merrier, delivered on its box office promise, delivering comedic act and good vibes to the audience, after all he is the phenomenal, unkabogable star. At the moment, we can watch Vice Ganda in ongoing shows such as It’s Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice. With sold-out local and international stadium concerts to his name, Vice Ganda has also introduced us to Vice Cosmetics, a beauty brand that espouses ganda for all.

Nadine Lustre

With a very eventful and career-defining few years, the Making MEGA in Greece and Making MEGA in Rio cover star Nadine Lustre will soon be back on primetime television. Nadine is currently filming a new star-studded series entitled Burado with Julia Montes, Zanjoe Marudo, Paulo Avelino and Thai actor Denkhun Ngamnet who will appear in the first part of the show. A tireless entrepreneur and creative herself, Nadine Lustre has been flexing her muscles when it comes to business music, building her portfolio with makeup through Lustrous, fragrance through Luster, and through songs with Careless Music Manila, which she promises to be more of in the coming year. While we will wait and see if there are any films on her professional horizon, she has definitely made a mark with her turns in Never Not Love You and Ulan.

Maine Mendoza

With her constant and continued appearances in noontime show Eat Bulaga, the Making MEGA in Morocco cover star Maine Mendoza has since taken over the film medium as well with Imagine You and Me and Isa Pa With Feelings. Beyond entertainment, she has steered her focus on her makeup collaboration with global brand, MAC. After an astounding first run as MAC Maker, her limited-edition collaboration naturally sold out fast. So, it wasn’t surprising when the brand knocked on her doors again, working this time a bolder and fiercer shade of lipstick as well as of an accompanying lipglass that we can’t wait to get our hands on.

Gabbi Garcia

After starring in a drama-action series, Beautiful Justice, Gabbi Garcia has had more and more career milestones. The Making MEGA in France cover star and prolific endorses, Gabbi Garcia was chosen as one of the VIP guests to watch FC Barcelona game live and was hailed as the 2020 Taiwan Tourism Ambassador. In terms of her career, she has also made a star-making effort in LSS, where she shared the screen with real-life love, Khalil Ramos.

Elisse Joson

The Making MEGA in Turkey cover star Elisse Joson has also had a blossoming acting career since. Stacking up on top of her achievements in TV shows such as The Good Son, Ngayon at Kailanman, and Sandugo, she is set to make us feel the bitter-sweet facet of romance in the upcoming iWant series entitled Ampalaya Chronicles with Khalil Ramos.

Janella Salvador

In Algarve and Lisbon, we got to know much more of Janella Salvador beyond the Disney Princess-esque veneer. Since then she has had much success on television and film, especially in illuminating performances in So Connected and The Heiress with the standard herself, Maricel Soriano. Drifting from her much talked about and now iconic character as Emma in The Killer Bride, Janella Salvador is focusing her efforts and energy on her music. After all, with an enviable pedigree in music, there is so much more she wants to share and sing. The Making MEGA in Portugal cover star Janella released her new single Blanko and is now available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Maymay Entrata

Recently, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber took home the Push Awards this year signifying their victory for three consecutive years. The Making MEGA in Germany cover star Maymay even auditioned for New York Fashion Week. Right now, she has been consistently showcasing performances in ASAP. But on the more encompassing whole, Maymay Entrata has been slowly building and defining her career with parts in La Luna Sangre and Hiwaga Sa Kambat, but it was especially in Hello, Love, Goodbye where she set herself as one to really keep an eye on. Her next project, Heart To Heart, is something were definitely looking forward to.

Kisses Delavin

After leaving Star Magic, the Making MEGA in Czech Republic cover star Kisses Delavin signed with Triple A Management, which also handles Marian Rivera, Maine Mendoza and more Kapuso celebrities. As she transferred to GMA, Kisses joins Eat Bulaga and stars in an episode of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko among other future endeavors. What is most interesting with the Playhouse star is that despite her rising prominence and the success she’s been striking, Kisses Delavin chose to slow things down and focus on her studies in De La Salle University. Juggling two worlds apart, Kisses is aware the path she chose won’t be easy, but she is determined to make both dreams a reality for her and for her family, too.
