Victoria Beckham is In Trouble for Hiring a "Sickly Skinny" Model For Her Latest Campaign

Victoria Beckham seems to be doing everything flawlessly lately, from coming up with a successful makeup line with Estee Lauder (who doesn’t love her Morning Aura?) to showing us how she spends time with her adorable family to her fierce Vogue Spain cover, which was just released yesterday.

However, the 43-year-old also currently happens to be on fire for hiring what many consider to be an “underweight” model for her Spring/ Summer 2018 Victoria Beckham Eyewear collection.

The campaign features model Giefre Dukauskiate, standing tall in a silk top, wearing tortoiseshell glasses from the collection. While the look is certainly stylish, many took notice of the model first rather than focusing on the line.

Many users commented on the photos that Beckham posted on her personal Instagram account, and some of them definitely weren’t pretty. Some comments included:

“Eyes didn’t even notice the glasses. The model was the focus. Sickly skinny! Beckham should be ashamed promoting eating disorders. Her young daughter is heavier than her models. Shame.”

‘Sickly skinny! Beckham should be ashamed promoting eating disorders.”

“Oh Victoria, how disappointing to see you using an emaciated mode. not something you should be proud of and not a good example for your daughter.”

Even British television host and writer Piers Morgan accused Beckham of glamorizing looking “painfully thin” in an opinion piece for The Daily Mail. “I don’t blame the model, Giedre Dukauskaite,” Morgan wrote. “For all I know, she’s perfectly healthy. But the way she’s been dressed and photographed for this campaign is deliberately intended to propagate a message that painfully thin is good. And I’m sorry, but it’s not.”

Do you think the campaign took things too far? Or should the matter just be left alone?
