Valentino Takes Accessories Up A Notch For Paris Couture Week

By

The beauty of Couture Week isn’t just about the enchanting gowns or the lush spaces of the catwalk but one of the absolute highlights of every sartorial spectacle is the range of accessories that come to wow the fashion crowd. For Spring 2018 at Paris Couture Week, Valentino did exactly that – delivering not only a playfully hued collection but also an assortment of fanciful headgear.

Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli took accessories to another level with grandiose feathered hats in a multitude of spring hues including hot pink, lavender, and seafoam green. The hats were designed by Philip Treacy, who is perhaps the biggest name in the realm of high fashion hat design.

Unveiling a dreamy extravaganza, the newest Valentino couture line featured bright colors, elaborate tulle, intricate beadwork, and grand statement gowns that we bet will be stars on the red carpet this season, especially with the 2018 Academy Awards coming up. Although the range had its share of classic revamped with color, a handful of the ensembles played on elaborate casual pieces that could definitely be day-to-night statement garbs.

“In a virtual era characterized by technological acceleration, it gives me pride and makes me feel full of hope keeping alive the Atelier in Rome, which I consider a true artist’s studio,” Pierpaolo Piccioli said on the brand’s Instagram account.
