Mention the brand Urban Decay to any makeup-obsessed person and it is unlikely that you will talk about the famed Naked Palette. Sadly, the brand has announced that they are discontinuing the product this year.

Originally launching back in 2010, it was considered to be one of the best eye shadow palettes, with spin-offs Naked 2, Naked 3, Naked Heat and Naked Basics following shortly after. Everyone wanted to get their hands on the shades. So why has Urban Decay suddenly decided to discontinue it?

Urban Decay Is Discontinuing Its Naked Palette This Year

The brand explained it all in a press release:

“The Naked Palette has been a total game-changer and category creator, leading the palette category for the last eight years. It’s become a staple in everyone’s makeup collection, and we’re so proud of that. But they say if you’re going to go out, you should go out on top, so it’s time to do that. And, we need to make room for what’s next.”

The original palette will be 50% off across all retailers starting August 23, as well as on the brand’s site and on Sephora. They will not be restocking once the product has run out.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what Urban Decay has in store next.
