Two Ways To Do Effortless Cool Girl Beauty According To Saoirse Ronan

If there’s anyone we’re on the lookout for when it comes to beauty, it’s Lady Bird star, Saoirse Ronan. The young actress, who just won Best Actress at the Golden Globes has been showing off her simple, effortless beauty looks on the red carpet and for Hollywood award shows, we all know it can be quite the heavy glam but it seems Saoirse begs to differ.

Stepping out for the Santa Barbara Film Festival and the Directors Guild Awards, she rocked not only one, but two subtle-but-chic beauty looks—choosing one feature to highlight and keeping the rest minimal. The 23-year-old star is bringing back the fresh, youthful style of beauty, choosing pared-back looks and even keeping her hairstyles lowkey. For her first appearance at the Directors Guild Awards, Saoirse sported the perfect red-toned magenta lip courtesy of makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua with minimal foundation, as well as foregoing the contour and highlight.

Her fiery lip was created with the Chanel Lip Balm and Powder Duo in Rosso Pompeiano. Saoirse also skipped the eye makeup and rocked fresh, dewy skin. For her hair, stylist Adir Abergel created the perfect rock chic ‘do with uber textured smooth but-not-too-perfect waves which absolutely complemented her toned down makeup and Grecian-inspired Calvin Klein dress, taking a modern approach to goddess beauty.

Changing to a more party-ready approach, the actress took the night with a second look—serving a mix of grunge and understated, stll leaving her face minimal (save for a hint of contour) and focusing on the eyes with heavy liner. Instead of just wearing smudged kohl on her waterline, Saoirse sported precisely lined upper lids, which connected to a smudged-but-not-too-smudged reverse cateye along her lower lashine. The result is a striking effect that frames the eyes for that smoldering look.

There was a reason why the makeup was kept subtle. The hair was quite the majestic sight in itself with a liquid metal adornment courtesy of the same hairstylist, Adir Abergel to add a major statement to the chic up-do and making it a showstopper that matches well with her white Chanel frock.

And if you thought it would be too much work for regular days, you thought wrong. You can absolutely rock these red carpet looks for any time and the best thing is, it’s versatile for day to night. The first red lip look is perfect for the office or work parties, while the second heavy-lined makeup would be a quick go-to for those impromptu parties on Friday night.
