For her second show at New York Fashion Week, Longchamp’s Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine captures the free-spirited energy of travelers. The show at the Financial district was a voyage of self-discovery and independence—the core of the French label’s F/W 2019 collection.

It showed us the true pneuma of a modern woman. She’s someone who rove the globe with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude and a wardrobe to match. And much like their wardrobe, on-the-go women must also possess a bag that’s fit for traveling.
So thank the design gods because Longchamp has it all figured out. The Parisian brand takes it newly launched signature print with a brand new bag collection called, “La Voyageuse.” It’s primarily inspired by Bauhaus artists and New York’s maze-like grid plan. So if you’ll notice, the LGP is actually dispersed throughout the line—giving a greater sense of big-city cool.
As it’s modeled after portable vanity cases, La Voyageuse compact silhouette imbues a ladylike charm. And proving that it’s the perfect travel companion, it comes in a large size for long distances and a foldable version ideal for those constantly on the go.
The bags stand harmoniously alongside the brand’s iconic Le Pliage, which is scaled to a miniature for the first time. All the bags come in a variety of colors. It also features an array of fabrics—from crocodile-printed leather, leopard-printed calf hair, to smooth leather embossed with the LGP logo.
In the long run, the qualities in the collection speak of wanderlust. There’s a strong manifestation of strong women with enthusiasm that fearlessly combine styles to create a look of their own. They are forever in motion, restless in their pursuit of new experiences. It typifies every woman, the Longchamp woman.
