The evening gown segment is one of the most anticipated highlights of the Miss Universe Philippines’ competition. Let’s celebrate this year’s queens and the designers who dressed them.
The evening gown segment is always something to look forward to in a beauty pageant. Here is where you’ll be able to spot the queens with sophistication, charm, confidence, and a sense of style. To prepare for this momentous event, each queen had to collaborate with their designer to create the gown of their dreams. Some creations maybe embellished, while others could be masterfully cut to fit a queen. Whichever the contestants and their designers choose to do, one thing remains the same–– the gown must bring out the best qualities of the wearer. If one possesses beautifully toned legs, then a high cut slit is a must. If one is blessed with voluptuous curves, then the dress must hug her waist perfectly. It’s an important task for the designer to be able to bring out the best in their queens.
For this year’s evening gown segment, we’ve narrowed down our top five favorite looks from the top 16 queens who graced the runway. These ladies wore great designs that perfectly accentuate their beauty and grace. Here are the top five best evening gowns of the night.
Maria Katrina Llegado
This number by Pablo Mendez could be dubbed as the golden naked dress. The sweet heart cut tube number worn by Llegado showed off her svelte figure in the most sophisticated way. You can see that the gown gorgeously accentuated her body.
Chantal Elise Legaspi Schmidt
Miss Cebu City
Sometimes simplicity triumphs over extravagance. Schmidt stood out from the rest for her iridescent cut out gown by Rei Escario. The gown was not heavily beaded like her competitors, but was sleek and minimalistic.
Lou Dominique Piczon
Miss Cebu Province
Yellow seems to be the color of the night. Pia Wurtzbach donned a bright yellow gown, as well as Miss Cebu Province Lou Piczon. She wore a bright asymmetrical gown with cape by Louis Pangilinan.
Miss Universe Philippines 2022 winner, Celeste Cortesi wore a dazzling fringed gown by Val Taguba. The creation looked like a wave of water as she gracefully walked down the runway. The fringed detail perfectly accentuated her hourglass figure.
Michelle Marquez Dee
The best evening gown award went to Miss Makati, Michelle Marquez Dee! The actress turned beauty queen walked down the runway in a gorgeous silver number by Francis Libiran. The unexpected cutout and gradient of beads made it truly a gown to remember.
