Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla dressed in disco-themed fashion for Karla Estrada’s birthday, reminding us of their She’s Dating the Gangster days

On-screen and real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are self-confessed old souls. The two are known for freely expressing their characters amidst fluctuating fashion trends in the industry. And with their recent presence during Karla Estrada’s disco-themed birthday party, we can’t help but visualize their looks as Kenji and Athena from their 2014 romantic drama movie, She’s Dating the Gangster, owning their big and bold ‘80s-inspired outfits.

Dancing through the golden disco’s greatest hits, Kathryn Bernardo rocked a black leather combo. She layered her colorful inner shirt with a biker’s jacket, and finished her look with a vintage mini skirt, fishnet socks, and heels. To complete the ‘80s vibe, the actress fixed her curly hair in a high ponytail.

Meanwhile, the actress’ dance partner Daniel Padilla kept his look straightforward but feisty, channeling Kenji’s vibe in the movie when his character finally decided to cut his hair. The actor’s iconic vintage ensemble featured an orange racing jacket paired with slim-fit faded denim jeans. Daniel even wore huge white sunglasses to complete the throwback look.

Some reports revealed that the layers and bright-colored wardrobe in KathNiel’s 2014 film were inspired by another movie produced in the ‘80s—Bagets.

While fans are waiting on what’s next for the couple, this might spark the interest of having another nostalgic film concept like this—we’ll just have to wait and see.
