This Is The Kind Of Queen Miss U PH Candidate Katrina Dimaranan Wants To Become

Katrina Dimaranan’s number one weapon to win Miss Universe Philippines is her golden personality

The morena beauty, Katrina Dimaranan, is spreading love and light in wherever she goes and whoever she talks to. If you’re someone who’s updated with all the news and content about Miss U PH this year, Katrina’s performances are always being talked about and leaves a lasting impression on pageant aficionados.

Despite her fierce aura, she’s a sweetheart in real life, and a total “beshy,” someone who gives off a “best friend” vibe, and that’s the kind of queen she wants to become according to her interview. As someone who’s from a humble background, and also as a T.V. host, she knows how to be one with people, and be a listening ear to anyone who needs to be heard.

In this exclusive interview with MEGA, the pride of Taguig opens up about her thoughts on her last chance in joining Miss Universe, and being proud of who she is and where she comes from. Here are some things we should know about one of the frontrunners of this year’s Miss Universe Philippines.

A queen within reach

KATRINA: For me, personally, the traits that a beauty queen should have is someone who understands her flaw and accepts it because for me, I always say no one’s perfect, and I always want to encourage other girls, especially the younger generation na parang it’s okay to not be perfect as long as you’re working toward being a better version of yourself diba?

Because if you want people to be inspired by you, you want people to be influenced by you, you have to be able to inspire yourself first

KATRINA: For me a beauty queen, you know, has courage and strength, not just inspires others, but also herself. She is very self-assured in who she is, right? Because if you want people to be inspired by you, you want people to be influenced by you, you have to be able to inspire yourself first. So, for me, a beauty queen is someone that possesses that. Someone who’s authentic, and very self-assured, very positive, doesn’t need to compare herself to other women, ganun.

KATRINA: The type of queen that I aspired to be talaga is someone that can relate with other people from all walks of life, and I take pride in being able to do that, because of the experiences I’ve gone through with my family. I’ve always said that I want to be the queen that isn’t hard to reach na parang barkada mo lang, parang everyday girl that you can relate to, but just so happens that she’s someone who really has that passion to represent our country, and also you know, being able to inspire others by being myself.

What the “crown” means to her

KATRINA: The crown is a symbol of pride, and the teamwork that comes with it to earn that crown. Because beauty queens, we are not the only ones who are fighting for that crown, we’re a whole team, which I would like to say to thank you to my team. Also for me, parang it’s a beacon of hope for the next generation and siguro for all my supporters na rin, right? Because as I say, the crown does not make a queen, it’s the queen that makes the crown, diba?

Where she comes from

She said that at the end of the day, she wants to savor every moment of her Miss Universe Philippines journey since this is her last year that she can join. Apart from that, she also opened up about her advocacy that is close to her heart, to know more about her past, and the struggles she overcame that made her the strong woman that she is today, watch the full interview below:
