Following the success of its first-ever collaboration with world-renowned fashion designer Vera Wang last year, Starbucks is back at it again this Christmas. But this time around, it’s with the bright and bubbly brand, Kate Spade.
As the most wonderful time of the year has turned the corner, Starbucks thought of making a capsule collection that aims to enliven the holiday spirits of its avid supporters. Knowing that 2020 has truly been a challenging year for most of us, it was only fitting for them to tap Kate Spade who’s known for creating quirky, fun, and eye-catching designs, rekindling the positive high energy that was forgotten.
So, as the Starbucks x Kate Spade collection embodies the holiday spirit, it incorporated colorful and playful designs against the New York City backdrop. Motifs of curious cats, as well as Kate Spade New York’s signature dots and stripes, ring in the season of celebrating joy, femininity, and optimism. But of course, the New York label’s iconic motif—the gold spade—can’t be missing in the design, so each limited-edition piece was also adorned with it.
According to Starbucks Asia Pacific VP for Product and Marketing Erin Silvoy, “Starbucks is excited to partner with Kate Spade to bring this fun and festive collection to customers across Asia. [This] collection was created to inspire joyful connections and optimism for the future, two values at the heart of both brands.”
