Remember when we were all wearing Dickies elephant pants in the 90s? Well the brand is keeping up with the times with a collection that focuses on minimalist and easy workwear

I distinctly remember going out to the streets of Quezon City back in 90s and early 2000s and seeing teens wearing bucket hats oversized button downs with anime characters printed on them and pairing up their Dickies denim ‘elephant’ pants. I was clearly in awe of how all of them looked and eventually became jealous as soon as my older cousins got their full looks wearing them to the mall.

But more than being cool, Dickies DNA has always been sturdy and useful workwear. Since 1921, the brand has been providing workwear to makers across the world. This 2021, Dickies defines the new workwear with the foundation of utility but with an attitude that is cool and apologetic. With a new company, Fort Worth Fashion Company, heading the brand the Philippines can now acquire a piece of culture that was only available in other parts of the world before today.

Together with the iconic logo comes a neutral color palette, oversized silhouettes that allow movement and minimalist details and utilitarian features, one can see the importance of lived-in, comfortable and durable fashion the brand has always been known for. It looks so comfortable and stylish enough that even women can wear it.

Personally I’m looking at the Hickory Cut & Sewn Jacket (P5,998) as well as the Oxford Graphic Logo Coach Jacket (P6,498) to put over my looks for a cool and oversized appeal. Best part is the brand launched the new collection today and is available to purchase here and will soon be available on Zalora as well as their new Flagship store in Robinson’s Place Manila
