These Are The 5 Fashion Trends We Spotted At NYFW S/S 2020

By

After six days of non-stop glamorous shows, NYFW S/S 2020 has finally come to a close. Now, it’s time we round up the best style trends.

What really sets NYFW this season compared to the previous ones is the creativity and grandeur. From seeing shows that took over an abandoned underground subway train, attending a Gatsby-inspired ball on Wall Street, to seeing Rihanna’s much-awaited runway show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, looks like New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2020 will truly be interesting.

But the most important key take away from NYFW S/S 2020, is that fashion is about to get more colorful, graphic, commanding, nostalgic, and Dionysiac. Here are the top five trends that undoubtedly needs to be in our wardrobe.

Black and White Graphic Prints

Let’s admit it: you can never go wrong with the spectrum bookends of black and white. After all, it’s a classic. But this time, it doesn’t need to be boring anymore. Showing the true luxe faction of monotones, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, and Kate Spade created more sophisticated and bolder graphic prints.

80s Throwback

Whether you like it or not, the 80s fascination is here to stay. And with all honesty, we’re ready to go all out with more striking style, colors, and silhouettes. We witnessed the likes of Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, and Michael Kors who all gave us a hint of the 80s flair—from statement shoulders to dramatic high shine.

Neon Lights

The great thing about today’s fashion scene is that more and more people are starting to experiment with their style. One way to achieve it is by donning an eye-catching number—enter neon hues. But this time, it’s not just a pop of color anymore, because Marc Jacobs, Sies Marjan, and Prabal Gurung tell us that it’s high time to wear it loud and proud.

Exposed Corsets

It’s all about cinching nowadays. Flaunt the veracious beauty of your hour-glass figure whilst taking your style game up a notch by wearing your corset on the outside. Take notes on how Vera Wang, Tory Burch, and Dion Lee did it impeccably posh.

The Lady Boss

As it already seems that women are slowly taking over the men’s world, ladies should also look the part. Command everyone’s attention en vogue in a power suit ensemble like what we saw from Marc Jacobs, Micheal Kors, and Phillip Lim.
