A collection full of bright colors and fun prints, the Versace Resort 2022 collection is ready for brighter days.
Inspired by what “new now” is, Versace presented their Resort 2022 collection with an optimistic and positive outlook. The joyful collection showcased bright colors, as well as Versace staples such as black leather, chains, and the Medusa.
“I think there’s a renewed sense of optimism right now and I wanted this collection to speak to that,” Donatella Versace, Chief Creative Officer shared. “This season is about having fun with fashion again and it feels right to put something positive into the world. We will never return to the old world or to the old ‘normal,’ there’s no going backward. This is what the new now looks like to me.”
Known for her unique style and chic designs, the Versace Resort 2022 collection, of course, is everything you’d expect from Donatella Versace and more. The collection gives a fresh take on a psychedelia, featuring a new print named “Medusa Music” that comes in acid and pastel colors. Pieces also feature wording that reads “Love. Versace. Medusa” with swirling patterns.
The Greca Signature was also evident within the collection. Only introduced on the Fall/Winter 2021 runway, La Greca Signature (Versace’s take on a monogram) has quickly become a brand code—so we can expect to see this more within the Versace universe.
As always, accessories played big part in the collection. An iconic piece, La Medusa handbags were introduced in more silhouettes and new finishes including tweed paneling and an embedded chain. Footwear that features chinky soles and Versace’s signature Biggie sunglasses hardware was also introduced in the collection.
