Last night held one of the most awaited award ceremonies of the year and if you’re like us, we’re not only looking forward to the winners but the sartorial gems on the red carpet as well. While last time at the SAG Awards, pink was the hue of the night and the Golden Globes took black as a symbol of support for #TimesUp, stars continued to promote the movement with white roses attached to their outfits or held as an accessory.
But let’s head right on to the main event, pop stars, models and music legends brought drama, high fashion and some jaw-dropping looks on the velvet floor. In a sea of glamorous designer looks, who reigned best dressed? Here are our top favorite looks.
If there’s anyone who’s absolutely known for taking red carpet looks (and all things fashion), it’s Lady Gaga. The singer stunned in a black gothic Victorian-inspired Armani Privé dress which featured a lace bodice and a long, dramatic train. Who said a black dress has to be plain?
Hailee Steinfeld brought trendy rock chic to the red carpet with a crisp, white Alexander Vauthier slit dress accented with a gorgeous pair of purple thigh high boots, truly fitting to the color of the year. We absolutely love how she juxtaposed clean and colorful with this ensemble.
Chrissy was all about the glamor on the red carpet as she literally glowed in silver sequins with her metallic Yanina Couture dress. The high shine number’s drapey silhouette gave the illusion of dripping silver and we’re loving how she kept the whole look consistent with all-silver accessories.
LANA DEL REY
The Lust For Life singer (who was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album) went full-on Grecian Goddess in her 70s inspired custom Gucci dress. Sticking true to her aesthetic, Lana wore a starry silver headpiece looking ethereal as ever.
Trendy as ever, Rihanna rocked a chocolate brown patent leather Alexandre Vaulthier trench as a dress complete with Le Vian Diamonds and slouchy boots in a matching hue. We expected nothing less from RiRi herself who’s always got the edgy red carpet looks perfected.
For someone whose usual style is all streetwear, it’s lovely seeing SZA glammed up. The singer who was nominated Best New Artist wore a stunning white drapey tulle dress from Atelier Versace complete with her signature curly locks.
The Bodak Yellow rapper took the show by storm with her voluminous Ashi Studio gown and Christian Louboutin pumps. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Cardi look without all the icy jewelry.
Of course we wouldn’t forget the show-stopping look Queen Bey took to the red carpet with her all-black custom Nicolas Jebran ensemble. The dress featured two thigh high slits that Beyoncé accessorized with large silver crystal earrings, a floppy hat, and 90s inspired sunglasses.
