In a beauty pageant, there are three highly anticipated segments. First, you have the swimsuit competition, where all the ladies show their hard earned physique. Second, there’s the Q&A portion, where the queens can show their heart and speak their mind. Finally, we have the evening gown segment, where the final 12 ladies have a chance to strut down the runway in original creations by local designers. Pageant fans who are also in to fashion, signature runway walks, and good music gravitate towards the latter.

As a pageant fan myself, I’ve found the evening gown segment to be more than a highly bedazzled runway show. It’s the portion of the pageant where you’ll be able to recognize the personality and confidence of the beauty queen. On top of this, you’ll also see the effort and creativity of both the designer and the queen who collaborated on the gown. That’s why I think it is only right to bring recognition to the top 7 best dressed Binibinis in the evening gown segment. Here are our top picks.

Binibini #17: Meiji Cruz
Representing Valenzuela City, Binibini Meiji Cruz, came out in a red cut-out dress that is beautifully encrusted with red and silver crystals. The gown was made by designer, Louis Pangilinan, in collaboration with Meiji and her team.

Binibini #24: Maria Francesca Taruc
Francesca Taruc of Angeles City was the only one donning a green number in the pageant. She wore a dazzling serpentine gown by Benj Leguiab.

Binibini #17: Hannah Arnold
If you wanna talk about big reveals, then we should bring up Hannah Arnold’s pink gown. In mere seconds, she was able to transform her billowing skirt into a sexy and sophisticated number.

Binibini #3: Patrizia Garcia
Manila’s bet, Binibini Patrizia Garcia, wore a stunning yellow asymmetrical gown by Michael Leyva. The number is a modern take on the Filipiniana with its butterfly sleeves.

Binibini #27: Graciella Lehmann
Many pageant fans would argue that Binbini Graciella Lehmann’s gown looked too much like Catriona Grey’s in Miss Universe. On the contrary, it is definitely a different take on Catriona’s with its mostly orange hues and beading.

Binibini #19: Gabrielle Basiano
Gabrielle Basiano took home the best in evening gown award and rightfully so. The Eastern Samar bet looked absolutely gorgeous in a head to toe beaded gown with a matching veil. Truly, one for the pageant books.

Binibini #1: Samantha Panlilio
At first glance, Binibini Samatha Panlilo’s ensemble may look like a usual beauty queen number. But, once you see her move and walk around her dress you’ll see why she’s on the top 7. The gown brought out her best features and gave her the confidence to snatch the crown.
