In this MEGA exclusive interview, celebrity makeup artist Kelly Goldsack revealed all the details behind the actress’ beauty look and how it really is like working with her

The artist was named the first-ever Asian woman to win the title Best Actress in a Leading Role for her stellar performance in the action comedy-drama, Everything Everywhere All at Once. Of course, it was also a big night for our own Dolly De Leon who was in attendance at the star-studded event together with the rest of the Triangle of Sadness cast.
It is given that the star arrived in her best all-black ensemble and beauty format. But the standout makeup detail? Dolly De Leon’s take on a red-carpet-approved glam. In a MEGA exclusive interview, we caught up with Kelly Goldsack, the actress’ most-trusted celebrity makeup artist. We sat down and explored the interesting story behind Dolly De Leon’s Academy Award beauty look, ways to achieve it, and how it really is to work with the actress.

“Effortless Glam,” celebrity makeup artist Kelly Goldsack described the beauty direction behind Dolly’s look. In this photo, it is easy to decode that Dolly De Leon’s makeup format is a heavenly combination of a classic red lip and radiant skin. “Dolly’s suit by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, with the statement red floral brooch was the perfect focal point so the name of the game was all about accentuating. Stylist LJ Perez loved the idea of a dark cherry lip and sleek bun so I build upon that with glowing skin and fluffy lashes to accentuate without taking the focus away from the outfit.”
At the other end of the spectrum, Dolly De Leon’s hairstyle can’t be left unmentioned. Emmy-nominated celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek created a 90s-inspired sleek spiky bun on the actress. It was a perfect twist to a classic updo as it added a subtle statement that complemented her all-black ensemble designed by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and styled by LJ Perez.

Of course, the beauty chat wouldn’t be complete without decoding the products and techniques behind Dolly De Leon’s effortless glam makeup look. “Her complexion was my favorite part of the makeup!” Kelly shared as we discuss the actress’ glowing skin. The secret? Skin prep. The celebrity makeup artist revealed, “I like thin sheer layers with plenty of hydration in her skin prep. Farmacy’s Wake-up Honey Eye Cream and Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream layered on top of a plumping serum really gave the perfect prep. I buff in Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation with a long bristle.”
In the realm of makeup, the artist exclusively shared the exact product she used on Dolly’s eyes and lips “The fluffy lashes were thanks to the Ardell Naked collection! And the eye shimmer was a blend of Kosas and Kaja cream eyeshadows.” As for the iconic red lip, Kelly chose a lipstick as classic and timeless as the actress’s “Lips are courtesy of Rouge Dior Forever liquid lipstick!”
On working with the Filipina actress
“Dolly and I have been working together for a bit now! She’s awesome, laid back, and hilarious, she has the quickest wit, I’m always cracking up with her!” Kelly easily described how it is working with the actress, but as we continued to chat, she also looked back on their first encounter. “We were introduced through my agency Exclusive Artists and have been working together since last year.”
The celebrity makeup artist didn’t miss out to decode the actress’ style expression “It is a perfect blend of bold and effortless, which really speaks to her personality and I think our glam and styling team just wants to showcase her incredible personality through looks. It’s such a fun ride working with Dolly and I can’t wait to see all the glam moments ahead!”
