But for MEGA, striking a balance between traditional values and contemporary ideals is the secret to its three decades of championing more than just fashion for the Filipino people.

The MEGA Next is indeed a celebration of keeping the brand’s core values as it ushers in industry trailblazers, as well as new team members. As the world continues to move forward, so will MEGA, its people, and its audience. Here’s how the Philippines’ best fashion magazine commenced its next chapter.

Welcoming the attendees to MEGA’s new world is an illuminated, portal-like walkway for their carpet moment. Red and white lights frame the boxes, reflecting the colors of power and purity of the magazine’s intention to grow with their readers.

What better way to usher in what’s next with a new face? KAO Manila’s white mask with LED eyes captures MEGA’s fresh perspective and approach in its content and structure. The event starts with Alex Diaz’s lively energy, hyping the attendees for the night. Guests keep the party rolling with their drinks from the open bar, accompanied as well by the tunes from DJ Marga Bermudez.

Head of Publishing and Marketing Janine Recto begins the program with the official launching of MEGA Magazine’s April issue with Andi Eigenmann on the cover. She says, “MEGA is changing the course of conversation. We are more inclusive, open, and real.”

The powerhouse team

Highlighting the brand’s evolution anchored on its true DNA of uplifting creatives, MEGA Magazine Editor-in-Chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro introduces the new batch of industry figures joining the team. In her speech, she highlights the contribution of readiness of MEGA to recognize and adapt with the changes in society. “MEGA will continue to evolve with its readers and will be a reflection of the sign of the times. We are moving at a lightning pace and it is important to us that we always communicate with our core audience and the new-generation readers about the values driven. MEGA has always been made up of diverse individuals, each one with a distinct and strong point of view. So tonight, MEGA is proud to introduce its powerhouse team.”

MEGA Entertainment Editor MJ Marfori emphasizes the building of connections with celebrities, redefining entertainment as an inclusive space for both fans and idols. “We want to make the audience feel as if they are talking to their idols, to their inspirations,” she points out. 

Meanwhile, MEGA Man and MEGA Active Editor Dong Ronquillo aims to “break the barriers of restrictive, backwards, and stereotypical masculinity” through their redefinition of manhood. To him, it’s all about embracing individuality and uniqueness.

As MEGA’s Senior Fashion Director, Kat Cruz keeps her vision simple— “To translate fashion to elevate and empower the MEGA Women.” 

Finally, Beauty Director Agoo Azcuna-Bengzon highlights experience as the best teacher in beauty and in life. “My plan is to rely on the wisdom of the past and infuse those learnings into the magazine. Think of it as a classic with a twist.”

The occasion officially caps off with guests relishing on drinks and beats with their friends and fellow creatives. MEGA Next indeed leaves a mark as a continuation of a past legacy, all the while forging another in the present and years to come.
