For the third installation of Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival, the crowd was swept with unbridled enthusiasm as the new wave of designers did not hold back from making us feel some type of way.

JUNCA HAIR SHOW
Opening day 3 was Junca Hair show. The models were sent down the runway in sharp and sleek hairstyles and were suited in out of this world silver metallics, reminding us that we live in the fast-paced digital age. Designed by Abie Ono of MIYAMA UNO, upgraded slip dresses, over sized jackets, and tracksuits skyrocketed the show.
JANDRA BABIERA
Jandra left a trail of sparkles on the catwalk in feminine frills and powerful silhouettes, proving that he can also be a romantic all while staying true to his core. A series of glitzy red-carpet ready dresses and pantsuits adorned with to-die-for embellishments in silver, blush and red made us want to have our own Kira Kira moment.
MACO CUSTODIO
Who said men don’t need resort wear looks too? Ditch the usual tropical printed shirts for casual overalls or airy tops and brave the summer heat with the fool-proof wicker hat. Whether you’re lounging by the poolside or savoring the beauty of the tropical islands, Maco Custodio has got you covered.
RAFAEL GONZALES
Known for his precision tailoring, Rafael Gonzales’ muse is the globe-trotting man. He boldly maneuvers every gentleman’s guide to smart dressing and nails the modern man’s suit in fancy square pocket details, single & double-breasted coats, and well-tapered pants.
REYNIER ABELLO
Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival Day 3 is definitely a celebration of diverse cultures. For his Spring/Summer collection, Reynier pays tribute to the Empire of Japan. Each piece is a direct homage to the samurai in graphic prints that masterfully made its way onto trench coats, suits and dresses. Thigh high boots, sharp suiting and men in skirts make a modern Japanese warrior’s uniform.
NEON ISLAND
If Neon Island had to choose its muse for their Spring/Summer Collection, it would be Malibu Barbie. It was a visual feast with splashes of 80s-inspired graphics, color blocked brights in co-ordinates, swimsuits and cover ups. The thriving ready-to-wear label’s collection looked exactly like a 1950s holiday post card all while countless songs of the summer amplified our eternal longing for an escape from the city.
RENAN PACSON FOR ARIN
Young, raw, an uninhibited form of love. Renan Pacson for Arin takes on raw hemlines, jagged edges, deconstruction, and splicing. Much like today’s love affairs, Arin redefines what it means to love and be loved in a world where everything is untamed.
YVES CAMINGUE
Aptly titled as “The Suntoucher,” the collection was named after Groove Armada’s 2001 album track, “Goodbye Country.” The young designer mixes summer prints with collegiate pieces, marking the transition from boy to man. One particular piece that we’ve got our eyes on is his version of the infamous sando bag in canvas fabric, the perfect companion for your travels.
SASSA JIMENEZ
For her first menswear collection, Sassa Jimenez surpassed all expectations without fail. Her muse is the boy-next-door type with a flair for the arts and adventure. Swathed in playful prints, bright colors the Sassa Jimenez man takes pleasure in urban dressing.
TEOFILA BY ANTHONY RAMIREZ
A go-to designer for celebrities and top stars, Anthony Ramirez made sure that each piece makes its way onto the wardrobes of each Filipina. His womenswear collection for Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival dives into monochromatic dresses and co-ordinates in soft pastel hues, lightweight fabrics, airy silhouettes and overhauls the classic white shirt-a style staple for every woman.
MARK TAMAYO
Remember resident bad girl Rihanna’s Cannes Film Festival look last year? Tiny sunglasses and glamorous gowns make an unlikely match but it looks elegant with a hint of edge if worn the right way. This season, Mark dips into oriental prints, gothic references, and strategically placed embellishments.
EVE DESIGN STUDIOS
You might have heard of fast-rising local brand Eve the Label for their intimates in the past, but for their Spring/Summer 2018 Collection, they served ultra-sassy and glamorous evening wear looks, slip dresses, and wearable lingerie in flirty lace, velvet and silk that will take you from day to night.
