“The Firm”: Showbiz families that could rival the British royal family

By

The British royal family has been making headlines since the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry interview with Oprah Winfrey. Though we’re over 10,000 KM away from the buzz, we can’t help but think of the showbiz clans right here in the Philippines – and how they can go up against Britain’s so-called ‘Firm’.

Because whether or not they’ve got the royal subjects and the crowns, they sure know how to catch our attention.

The Barrettos

If there’s a family as controversial as the Windsors, there’s the Barrettos. The layers would be deep enough for any Royal reporter to drown in. If ever given the royal crown, there would also be explosive tell-alls from every side.

The Gutierrezes

Now here’s another matriarchy like no other. With Annabelle Rama at the helm, this family is ready to take on any scandal and petty gossip. Not to mention that they’ve already had practice with their own Kardashian-esque reality show: It Takes Gutz To Be A Gutierrez.

The Eigenmanns

With Andi now officially a Siargao islander and staying away from the harsh showbiz spotlight, we can’t help but compare it to a certain Sussex couple who called it quits from the Royal Family. Hopefully, there won’t be any more tearful tell-alls in this one.

The Padillas

Though they’ve been keeping it low-key these days, we can’t help but compare the privacy of the Padillas to the secrecy of the so-called Firm. With a new generation of couples brandishing the Padilla moniker, perhaps a revision is in line too.

The Sottos

Last but not least: The Sottos! Instead of going for a dramatic theme though, we reckon this kind of royal family will be more easy-going and carefree. With the inclusion of Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto to shape the political theme, who’s to say it isn’t possible in another world?
