Ternocon 3 Presents Their Final Lineup

By

Ternocon gives us a sneak peak of what’s to come in January 2023.

Nowadays, local brands and designers create pieces that pay homage to our culture. May it be in the form of a modernized Filipiniana ensemble or minimal details such as fabrics, sleeves, or weaves—we have seen the rise of culture and heritage in our local fashion scene.

And in their effort to bring awareness to our national costume, the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Bench partnered up to bring forth an event that champions our culture through fashion.

Ternocon is a competition and convention that gathers rising designers with a challenge to create outstanding interpretations of the Filipiniana. For their third installment, they are making a strong comeback with a lineup of talented designers after two years of waiting.

Held at the botanical rooftop of The Curve in BGC, unique Ternos made their way around the deck for a sneak peak of what’s to come during the official Ternocon competition happening in early 2023.

The exclusive press launch included the works of esteemed designers that were appointed to be the mentors of this year’s installment. Joey Samson, Dennis Lustico, Chito Vijandre and Ricky Toledo presented their exquisite interpretations of the Terno.

Alongside their mentors, few of the finalists and winners of past installments showcased their creations as well. Included in the exclusive lineup was Hannah Adrias, the winner of 2020 Ternocon, with Jaggy Glarino and Dinnes Obusan. While Cheetah Rivera and Bon Hansen represented this year’s batch.

A diverse line of pieces as constructions of prints, appliqués, and patterns were presented with such unique artistry. It was a captivating run, and we are definitely waiting with excitement for their final competition.
