The truth is out: Taylor Swift and Stella McCartney finally launches their much-awaited Lover fashion collab!
Not only does Taylor Swift have a new album for everyone; she’s got a whole new line of clothing too. And with that under way, we sure won’t be surprised if the superstar will teem the fashion industry, much like how she dominates the music charts.
Part of the release of her seventh studio album titled, “Lover”—which comes out August 23—is a fashion line. Which is all possible because of British designer Stella McCartney who’s helping Swift make her way into the fashion limelight.
According to Vogue’s September issue, the collaboration of Swift and McCartney started when the two met at one of her concerts in London. “When I started spending more time in London, Stella and I would go on walks, have cocktails, and talk about life. So when it came time to write this album, I name checked her in one of my songs, and when I played her the album, I said, ‘Should we do something?’” Swift said in her interview with Vogue.
Lo and behold, the superstar immediately fired up social media when she posted a photo with McCartney on Instagram. “It’s been [so] much fun to work/dream up cute stuff with my friend Stella McCartney to create a line inspired by my new album Lover,” she captioned.
In addition, Swift posted the entire look book of the collaboration on her website on Tuesday. The line features grafitti, rainbow, and tie-dye ensembles, perfectly mirroring Lover’s color scheme and aesthetic.
The main merchandise consists of band t-shirts, jackets, bags, and even a reusable water bottle. But in every collection there’s are a few must-haves. So for this collaboration, it’ll none other be the two limited-edition items: a pale pink silky bomber jacket (USD 1995) and a faux leather handbag (USD 795).
But more than the design per se, what we really love about this celebrity collection is Stella McCartney kept her commitment to sustainability intact. All the pieces were still created with eco-friendly materials.
