K-Pop star SUGA of BTS joins Valentino as their new global ambassador

Worldwide favorite K-Pop group BTS has quite the busy schedule despite their ongoing break. Though the activities aren’t group-related, they’ve been taking on individual projects in both fashion and music. Just yesterday, Jimin was announced as Dior’s new global ambassador, while J-Hope is set to fly to Paris for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter Menswear Collection show on the 19th.

Meanwhile, SUGA made quite the spur as he teased the media with his upcoming collaboration with Valentino as he was seen wearing pieces from the brand when he flew to the States and back to Korea. To make the collaboration official, it was announced today that SUGA is now the new global ambassador of Valentino.

Under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli, the maison has a refreshing narrative that is dependent on tradition, yet is never afraid to welcome diversity in all aspects. May it be in means of inspiration to brand faces, Pierpaolo Piccioli has been advocating for inclusivity and authenticity through fashion.

To move further into said advocacy, they introduced DI.VAs, an acronym that stands for DI.fferent VA.lues. The first to join the group was Lewis Hamilton, who is now followed by SUGA. These ambassadors were carefully chosen because of their shared values with the brand.

Sharing his sentiments towards SUGA, Pierpaolo Piccioli described the K-Pop star as a multifaceted artist and an interpreter. He utilizes his talent to express such energy and authenticity.

“He perfectly embodies everything that DI.VA.s testimonials stand for: diversity, inclusivity, creativity, and passion.”

As for SUGA, he stated that both he and the brand share the same support for diversity, an advocacy he believes in. The BTS rapper and producer is set to be at the front of the upcoming Maison Valentino Essentials campaign, a line that offers Valentino’s menswear staples.
