Streetwear Brand Hood By Air Makes Its Comeback with Luxury Brand Longchamp

A year ago after Hood By Air (also known as “HBA”) announced that they were undergoing a hiatus to pursue new ventures and with co-founders Shayne Oliver focusing at Helmut Lang and Leilah Weinraub going back to directing, the subversive brand known for infusing avant garde and street wear is back with a vengeance.

Plunging into logo mania, Hood By Air dips into fashion’s hottest trend with ‘Hiatus’ and ‘Realness’ making its way onto leather goods. Perhaps its Oliver’s humor that became the central preoccupation of their collaboration with the brand laughing alongside their fashion critics who think HBA is no longer credible.

“I realized the house’s history, but it was the democratic vibe that really got to me,” Oliver introduces the collaboration. “I didn’t want to overdesign or make it too fussy and complicated,” he shares to Vogue’s Lynn Jaeger. The stand out piece that takes the cake? That millennial pink bomber jacket that incorporates the Le Pliage bag on its over sized sleeve.  The Longchamp by Shayne Oliver collection is set to launch on Friday, May 4 2018 at select Longchamp stores and online, before debuting at Longchamp stores internationally in early May. Longchamp is exclusively available at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La, Rustan’s Cebu and Greenbelt 5.
