The Streets Called It—This Is The Trend To Try This Season

By

Straight off the runway, we saw a number of designers take on the pastel trend at fashion week, ranging from Preen by Thornton Bregazzi’s take on romantic suiting to Pringle of Scotland’s light-as-air goddess-like dresses. It was all about the utilization of dreamy hues on the catwalk and unsurprisingly always early to the party, the street style crowd followed suit with their own takes to the fresh trend and we’re definitely taking notes.

Here, we’ve culled in our favorite ways to wear pastels now, as told by the streets:

Texture Play

Pastels get a cool touch when you play with different textures.

Colorblocking

Take a pastel outfit to the next level by going for matching pastel accessories. But to avoid looking overly done, break the colorful scheme with a dark-colored outerwear.

 The Oversized Look

For a muted look that is a little less dainty, reach for oversized pieces. Trust us, you’ll instantly look like a street style star.

Give suiting up a whole new meaning by going for suits in sweet hues. The result? A look that is strong yet still very feminine. For extra-sartorial points, pick an embellished clutch in the same muted color.

The Athleisure Route

Just when you thought you couldn’t use those track co-ords for anything other than the gym or an errands day, it could definitely be more elevated. Try a longline coat and your favorite chunky sneakers a la model off duty.
