There’s no better time to celebrate the earth than during the season when it’s in full bloom. With heightened awareness around the fashion’s significant contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, the leading cause of climate change, major game players in the industry are listening to the needs of our planet and making greener choices as a result. And this spring, taking another step into a sustainable future is GUESS with their latest Eco Collection.

After months of virtual events, GUESS together with MEGAStyle, held a face-to-face event at Fifty-Nine Flower Café to further spread awareness regarding the brand’s continuous push for sustainable fashion. From bold stems and seed pods to ethereal grasses, the event’s interior covered in dried flowers provided the perfect elegant backdrop for the latest collection of GUESS. Grounded in a sun-drenched pastel color palette, the collection from the iconic American brand elevate the warm weather essentials by partnering it with floral patterns and on-trend silhouettes. Every piece within the GUESS Eco Collection is made with recycled and sustainably sourced materials. There’s also a special Earth Day capsule collection for men.

Content creators, beauty queens, celebrities and top models were also in attendance dressed in their best spring looks. The likes of Daniel Matsunaga and Rain Matienzo wore cool and casual denim outfits, while Maureen Wroblewitz, Alaiza Malinao, and Rhian Ramos looked effortless in all-white fits.

Maureen, Co-Owner of GUESS shared that the collection is only one part of their initiatives towards sustainability. They have a global campaign called “Our World, Our Future” that focuses on “ROI” meaning recycled, organic and innovative materials to create fashion-forward sustainable clothing. A fun fact is that it only takes 6 recycled plastic bottles for GUESS to make 1 Eco top. By 2025, they hope to completely transition to 100% recycled or bio-based polyester.

GUESS has also partnered with The Plastic Flamingo, a social enterprise based in the Philippines that collects and transforms plastic waste into a range of sustainable construction materials which can be used to build new schools, housing, and shelters. With the partnership, 5% of all GUESS Eco sales during Earth Month will be donated to the PLAF.
