Heart Evangelista represents the Philippines once again in a new billboard along New York City’s Times Square. Find out how she did it.
New York! New York! As Frank Sinatra once sang, “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.” And, guess who made it? Our very own darling of the Philippines, Heart Evangelista. Early in the morning on January 9, Miss Evangelista started her day with the most exhilarating news. She found out that her face was plastered on a screen in New York City’s Times Square. Heart swiftly shares the news to her 7.3 million followers on Instagram with a post that reads, “I still can’t believe that my billboard for @iasthreads is displayed in Times Square in New York! 😭 I’m so grateful for such an incredible opportunity to highlight a sustainable brand that shows the talented craftsmanship of Filipino artisans. God is truly good! 🙏✨”
We are extremely proud of Heart Evangelista and all the Filipino creatives who worked with her on this project. We can not wait for more blessings to shower her in the year 2021. Here’s what we know about her digital billboard in New York’s Times Square.
The campaign is for Ia’s Threads by Ia Faraoni
Ia Faraoni is the designer behind Ia’s Threads. She is a graduate of Ateneo de Davao University and a former Municipal Council Member in Davao del Norte. After which, she ventured to the United States and started her own label. Since then she has received numerous awards for her sustainable efforts with Ia’s Threads. Among these titles are Remodista’s 2019 Women2Watch Honoree and International Fashion Designer Winner at CMG Paris Fashion Week in Paris, France.
Heart is showcasing the Panda Minaudière bag in the billboard
The Panda Minaudière bag is part of Ia’s Threads Cruise Collection. It retails for $195.00 (PHP 9,371.01) and is described as a piece of ethical luxury. The bag is named after Heart Evangelista’s beloved dog, Panda. Additionally, the bag was made with Love Marie’s personality in mind–– sophisticated and fashion-forward.
Ia’s Threads’ merchandise is made by Philippine Artisans
Ia Faraoni has made it her personal mission to create eco-friendly and ethical merchandise for her clientele. She aims to provide rare and elegant pieces for the modern sophisticated woman. Apart from this, she makes use of Philippine textiles such as the Buri plant and utilizes Filipino craftsmanship in the creation of her pieces. Since the beginning of Ia’s Threads, the label has been providing a source of income for many Filipinos in Davao del Norte.
