Sharon Cuneta Says She’s “In The Midst Of Two Rocks” With Family’s Political Clash

When you mix family with politics, things are bound to get messy.

Such is the case with Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s latest post about having a “happy, but heavy heart” over Senate President Tito Sotto and Senator Kiko Pangilinan eyeing the Vice President post for the 2022 National Elections.

With her husband Kiko and Tito Sotto, her uncle, vying for the same position, it’s proven to be a challenge for Sharon Cuneta.

In an Instagram post announcing her return to the country, Sharon shared that: “Two men I greatly love—one whom I have known since birth, and the other, one I exchanged solemn vows with 25 years ago, are about to vie for the second-highest position in the country.”

“And once again, I do not know what I could have done so wrong to find myself in the midst of two rocks.”

She continued that she hopes that this political feud will not divide their family, as others such as her first cousin Ciara Sotto have already spoken up about their sentiments.

“I pray that after this game called politics is over, that wounds are healed, loved ones do not doubt your love for them, and I and my sisters, especially, the only family I have left besides my own, find our way back to one another’s arms, unscathed and free of the pain our battle scars have brought us,” the actress wrote.

“It is most difficult for us in the periphery, who never imagined we would be in this position.”

She ended her post asking for prayers, as the two families are set to undergo political campaigns once COMELEC confirms Pangilinan and Sotto’s certificate of candidacies come November.
