The New Workout Gear That’s Comfortable Enough To Relax In

By

With a message of inclusivity and a relaxed approach to being active and confident, Recess launches their first line of workout gear. Both cozy and functional, the line can make you feel and look put-together without the added pressure.

When our days are spent working, relaxing, and exercising in one space, we can rely on a set of leggings and sports bra to motivate us to be productive without having to actually workout. Recess, a newly launched lifestyle brand from the minds of Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, Roxanne Farillas, and Paulina Ortega, wants to empower all movement by creating a line of activewear to take a break in. Athletic wear is also the perfect in-between of a full-on outfit and sweatpants that can be work-appropriate while keeping you comfortable.

Their activewear line has no shortage of pieces to wear for work, play and break time:

Inclusive Sizing

The founders are determined to make their line accommodate all individuals of different shapes, sizes, and genders. They shared during the intimate online launch event that creating the line was no easy feat. Since activewear is very specific and the needs of each person are different, they took the time and effort to get insights from different kinds of people.

Their bras accommodate cup sizes AA-DD, and leggings, jackets, tees, and tanks range from sizes 1-6. They even have leggings specifically made for those glowing moms. The “Future is Here Legging” can be worn throughout pregnancy and after—attested by new-mom Anne Curtis herself.

Women-Ran Brand

The partners Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, Roxanne Farillas, and Paulina Ortega were supposed to launch the brand much earlier in the year. Nevertheless, they kept pushing forward despite the obstacles in their way. With constant ambition, they continue to show that pursuing an active lifestyle also means taking the time to press pause, breathe, and relax in our own ways.

The Fabrics and Cuts

We all know how hard it is to find the time to squeeze in a daily workout and even how pressuring it can be but with Recess, their gear is versatile. Their workout clothes aim to maximize your wardrobe and your precious time. Eliminating another step to your day, you don’t have to do a full change of clothing before or after your workout.

From an aesthetically pleasing color palette of neutrals and bright tones, the line uses two kinds of fabric:

The Do Everything fabric offers gentle compression and breathable fabric. It is ideal for low-impact activites such as stretching and de-stressing around the house. It’s even comfortable enough to take a lil’ siesta moment in.

The sport bras with this fabric is the Come At Me Bra that has a lower neckline and offers support without limiting any movement. While the Going Places Crop can easily mix and match with other clothing items to achieve that athleisure look.

The Tricolor Athlete Bra also offers more flexible movement with colorful piping made out of leftover fabric scraps.

Specifically created for more intense exercises and busier days, the Personal Best Fabric offers medium compression. This will help in making sure you have enough support to avoid adding any unnecessary strain to the body.

The Team Player Bra and Personal Best Leggings are pieces for those who prefer more secure and tighter workout attire.

The leggings have a 2-ply waistband for added support to the core, while the bra has a high neckline and a fuller back coverage for an ideal encapsulation fit.

They also have Tees, Tanks, and a WLB (Work-Life-Balance) Jacket to complete the whole look.

All pieces are now available at recess.com and Zalora. For more updates follow Recess on Facebook @our.recess on Instagram.
