The Prada SS22 menswear collection takes you on a beach trip to Italy.
Just like holidays and vacations, the Prada Men’s Spring 2022 collection is one everyone has been looking forward to. Co-designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the show was set in Sardinia, Italy, where clear waters and sandy beaches are everyone’s go-to.
“A sense of the utopian, the ideal, of hope, positivity. To expose yourself to nature, to go to the beach — it’s freedom. It is utopian. That is really a primary need — an intellectual need, too,” Muiccia Prada shares in an interview. A sense of excitement for when normalcy is back is evident in the collection. With pops of bright colors like yellow, green, pink, and orange; as well as playful prints that perfectly capture the fun of summer.
A standout during the show, most of the models donned skorts in different colors and prints. Bucket hats were also highlighted as one of the main accessories for the collection.
To end the show, models were shown walking on the beach in their Prada ensembles. Co-designer Raf Simons shares, “The primary feeling is one of joy. It’s almost like that memory of a child, the joy of a child going to the beach. The simplest and most honest of pleasures. In all its simpleness, it’s also something very meaningful and timeless.”
