Pia Wurtzbach and Janine Gutierrez At The Carolina Herrera Show In NYFW

These style stars prove that Filipinas can standout during fashion week, too.

To be given an invite to attend New York Fashion Week would be every woman’s dream. Not only do you get to dress up to the best of your ability, but you’d also get a first look at the top-tiered designer’s collection for next season. Recently, more and more are joining the roster of Filipinas attending the much-talked about NYFW. No, it’s not just Heart Evangelista anymore, because Pia Wurtzbach and Janine Gutierrez have since followed suit.

While the two stars have been to a few shows before (in fact, Pia herself, walked for Sherry Hill when she was crowned Miss Universe), what’s different this time is Carolina Herrera invited them to sit on the front row to witness first-hand all the fashion drama on the catwalk.

For its Fall/Winter 2020 collection, Carolina Herrera’s Creative Director Wes Gordon created a compelling sense of modern drama with one grand gesture. Exquisite fabrics were draped in fabulous parallel folds mimicking fluting on a column or left unadorned in planes of simplicity. Precise shapes and forms assume new importance, with sumptuous interior layers meant to be seen as much as the exterior.

Realized in pure lines or ravishing billows of pattern and color mixing, the impeccable use of silhouettes stunned everyone with its austerity. And as the Herrera woman is fearless and fabulous this season, it’s only fitting to also see the women invited by the house of Herrera donning deceptively simple yet dramatic silhouettes.

As this was a first time for Pia Wurztbach to attend Carolina Herrera’s show, she made sure to stand out in the chicest way possible. Channeling a wilder side, she veered away from the demure aura she’s used to, wearing a monochromatic earth-toned look accentuated by snakeskin print. To add that pop of color, she toted the label’s coveted Initials Insignia bag.

Meanwhile, Janine Gutierrez went all out with bright hues depicting the mirthful season ahead. Decked, of course, in Carolina Herrera, Janine donned a yellow lace dress over a neon green turtleneck as well as a double-breasted suit embellished with bee brooches. To finish off her look, she wore cerulean sock stilettos and a classic yellow Insignia Initials bag.

So, have you been taking notes from Pia Wurtzbach and Janine Gutierrez? You very well should as these are sure-fire street style trends next season.

Carolina Herrera is located in Greenbelt 5, Makati City. Follow them on Instagram @carolinaherrera for more updates.
