The Making MEGA in Rio cover star Pia Wurtzbach is a daring lioness against the brushing waves and enormous rock formations of the Copacabana beach. On the scorching summer heat of Rio, Pong weighed the setting, season, and the cover star for the look’s inspiration. Complementing the golden boulders where Pia fearlessly poses, Pia’s beauty look was inspired from the glowing reflection of sunlight on the waters of Copacabana beach.
Before we even go further Pia’s look, under her heavy highlights was a properly prepped skin ready for an all-out shoot. Pong prepped Pia’s skin using a Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Moisturizer, Clarins Eye Cream, and there’s no way they can skip the sunblock and Lucas Papaw to hydrate Pia’s lips.
After priming Pia’s face with Pat McGrath Primer, we zoomed into her eye look. “I exaggerated the shadow on the crease of her eyes as I take inspiration on the depth of the sea,” shares Pong. This golden shimmering lids was made possible with Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Body Heat and Golden Mink and Pat McGrath Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette. As she carefully takes the heat into consideration, she skipped the eyeliner and mascara to avoid unwanted smudge.

Pong gave extra attention to some parts of Pia’s face that would gorgeously look shining. “I focused on her eyelids—inner corners of the eyes, above the cheekbones, bridge and tip of the nose, and the cupid’s bow,” shares Pong.
