The Big Dome—Araneta Coliseum—was once again filled with loud cheers as Binibining Pilipinas 2022 took place to cap off the month of July.
With Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves leading the night’s festivities, six out of forty contestants stood out among the rest and went home with respective crowns on their heads.
The Winners
After a long wait of suspense, Nicole Borromeo from Cebu won the title of Bb. Pilipinas International, completing the new roster of queens for the night.
Roberta Angela Tamondong from San Pablo, Laguna is the new Bb. Pilipinas Grand International. She is also this year’s Bb. Philippine Airlines.
Gabrielle Basiano from Borongan, Samar is Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022. She bested the forty contestants in the Swimsuit and Long Gown categories.
Chelsea Fernandez from Tacloban, Leyte succeeded in getting the Bb. Pilipinas Globe title, as well as Bb. Ever Bilena.
Meanwhile, Herlene Nicole Budol from Angono and Stacey Daniella Gabriel from Cainta filled the 1st and 2nd Runner Up spots, respectively.
Budol garnered seven special awards as well, which include: Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice,
Bb. Shein, Bb. Pizza Hut, Bb. Kumu, Jag Queen, Bb. Silka, and Bb. World Balance.
The Special Awards winners are the following: Graciella Sheine Lehmann for Best in National Costume; Eiffel Janell Rosalita as Ms. Friendship; Ma. Isabela David as Ms. Talent; Yllana Mari S. Aduana as the Face of Binibini, and Karen Laurrie Mendoza as Bb. Moist Diane Shampoo.
The Game
Following the announcement of the Top 12 is the question and answer portion of the competition. Each contestant was given 30 seconds to answer the question of a judge. The topics ranged from looking at the pageant industry with a critical eye to understanding the importance of history.
During the event, SB19 and Maymay serenaded the contests and gave world class performances for the audience.
Darna stars Jane De Leon and Joshua Garcia were also present in the event as judges.
