Easy, affordable, and convenient, isn’t that exactly what you’re looking for when putting on an everyday makeup look? These celebrities recently launched their collaborations with well-loved Filipino brands and they revealed what products and shades they’re using in these stunning snapshots.

Here are the newest collaborations you’ll want to add to your makeup kit, plus a first-reaction review for some of the products mentioned:

Generation Happy Skin Bloom

Coming from the success of Generation Happy Skin with Kathryn Bernardo, the newest Generation Happy Skin Bloom collection consists of no-frills everyday makeup. Pared down and back to basics, these are classics that form the backbone of every well-stocked makeup kit. With a focus on comfort, ease of use, and affordability, this line brings back the joy and pleasure in doing one’s makeup, especially in times like these.

First impression:

The package came in a UV-light sterilization box which I was excited to try first. It’s timely too, seeing as we want everything we touch to be germ, virus, and bacteria-free. So, after having the products sterilized, I swatched the products and applied some of it on my face for a 12-hour makeup test. It’s safe to say that the Generation Happy Skin Bloom exceeds expectations.

The biggest standout is the cream blushes for its stay-on power. It lasts all day, even with oily skin, and the pigmentation of the cream blushes go a long way with just a simple swatch.

I use Happy Skin’s water lip and cheek tint for my everyday makeup look, so I was already sure I would like the new shades as it fits any Filipino skin tone. But what intrigued me the most was the glossy tints because I’ve never tried Happy Skin’s glossy tints before. The pigmentation is strong and it leaves the lips feeling moisturized, which is a pleasant surprise as tints are usually quite drying. The texture resembles a jelly tint for its thicker consistency, but when applied, it spreads on the lips evenly. It officially goes on top of my list of favorite lip tints.

For their new addition to the Generation Happy Skin collection, they added these products:

Stay Fresh Weightless Pressed Powder SPF20 – There are two available shades for their pressed powder: Light Beige and Medium Beige. For P499, you get a featherlight and non-stifling powder that is formulated with SPF 20.

On-The-Go Longwear Cream Blush – Available in four new shades: Sunset, which has a peachy color, Pink Fizz that looks rosy pink, Salty that looks brick brown, and Coconut with a pink mauve hue. For P449, you get a portable pot of cream blush that lasts all day, without clogging your pores.

Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint – If you have been a fan of Happy Skin’s line, then you would know that their lip tints are the most fool-proof stain for the lips. Even Kathryn Bernardo personally swears by its transfer-proof stain. This time, the water lip and cheek tint gets a color update for Generation Happy Skin Bloom. Two additional shades—Warm (burnt orange) and Cheeky (burgundy red)—join the lineup, and for only P329 each, it will be perfect for effortless and easy-going everyday makeup.

Kiss & Bloom Glossy Tint – Backstory from Happy Skin: When Kathryn first tried the Disney | Happy Skin Cooling Lip Gloss, it was love at first swipe. She used it so much that she just had to create a similar one for Generation Happy Skin Bloom. The result is a creamy gel tint that combines the high-shine finish of a gloss and the staining power of a tint. It delivers vivid, opaque color with a luscious, lustrous sheen to make lips look like the juiciest, ripest fruit of the bunch. Intensely moisturizing, it’s just the tint to wear under protective masks. Available in Crimson (crushed berry) and Tanned (cocoa brown) for P349 each.

Perfect Brows Eyebrow Mascara –This is perfect if you want your brows to look full and bushy. The smooth pigment readily bulks up brows with a single stroke. Best part? It’s waterproof! Find a match in the shades natural Brown and Taupe for P399 each.

Perfect Brows Eyebrow Pencil Duo – If you want your brows to look perfectly on-fleek, this is the product for you. It consists of pencil on one side to line and fill brows, and a brush on the other to distribute color and keep hairs in place. Get it in Natural Brown and Taupe for P399 each.

Extra Drama Volumizing Mascara – All this mask-wearing means it’s even more important to emphasize the eyes. What I like about this mascara is that it coats every strand to create lush, lifted lashes without the messy clumps or a heavy weighed-down feeling. It stays on amid sweat and oily eyelids and is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It also doesn’t smudge and darken your eyes like what most waterproof mascara does. Available in black for P499 each.

How to cop Kathryn Bernardo’s look:

This look on Kath is stunning! She recently shared on her Instagram what products she was using for this look and said that she was wearing the Afterglow set in the photo. For her cheeks, she used On the Go Blush in Coconut. For her lips, she used Kiss and Bloom Glossy Tint in Tanned, Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick in Fresh for her eyeshadow, Perfect Brow Pencil + Perfect Brow Mascara in Taupe for her on-fleek brows, the Stay Fresh powder in Medium Beige for her base, and lastly, the Extra Drama mascara in Black.

Make like Kathryn Bernardo and score the limited-edition Generation Happy Skin Bloom UV Bag Set, which retails for a sensible P4499.

Issy & Co.

Homegrown beauty brand Issy & Co. released their first-ever beauty collaboration with Alex Gonzaga, featuring universally flattering makeup products that Alex can’t live without. The new line comes with inclusive shades of creme blushes, highlighter sticks, and lip mousses.

First impression:

The packaging alone of Issy & Co. is enough to grab anyone’s attention because of its elegant design. The Creme Blushes were a sure scene-stealer for the whole collection for its transparent, travel-friendly compact and solid pigmentation. It’s formulated with SPF15 for added sun protection and the blush can also be used as a lip color or an eyeshadow base. The colors that are available are peachy tone, pink, a darker brown town, reddish hues, and orange for P349 each.

While the lip mousses, which were packaged in a minimalist frosted glass tube, are creamy, moisturizing, and leaves a stain on your lips even as the mousse fades. It is infused with vitamin E for its moisturizing properties, rosehip oil for its antioxidants, and SPF15 to protect the lips from harmful UV rays. Coming in six new shades, they are priced at P399 each.

Lastly, the highlighter slim stick is the perfect tool to be used for the inner corners of your eyes, just like how Alex does her goddess look. With the packaging being slim, it makes it easier to apply shimmer on the nose line and the cupid’s bow, and can even be blended with the creme blush for a natural soft glow. The 3 luminescent shades, Celestial, Cosmic, and Stellar, are priced at P329 each.

How to cop Alex Gonzaga’s look:

Issy and Co.’s collection with Alex Gonzaga is available in six “Get the Look” kits, complete with how-to notes to achieve looks as worn by Alex. This look is my personal favorite. Alex used the Lip Mousse in Rom Com for her lips, the Creme Blush in Scandal for her cheeks and eyes, and the highlighter slim stick in Celestial.

The collaboration collection will be available online at Lazada, Shoppee, and BeautyMNL and in stores at Landmark Trinoma & Makati.
