Next-Gen Chemistry: The Gen-Z Love Teams You Should Watch Out For

By

Every new era of showbiz ushers in couples that perfectly encapsulate their generation.

From Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz to Nadine Lustre and James Reid, there are always new ways of looking at love through the years, may it be through movies and TV series.

This time around, social media is giving us even more access to this new generation of love teams. With their content-savvy and undeniable chemistry, check out these Gen-Z love teams that we’re definitely keeping tabs on.

Donnie Pangilinan and Belle Mariano

Donnie and Belle first captured fans’ hearts in the schoolyard set romantic comedy series, He’s Into Her.

With both playing private school students with the classic class struggle problems, the two are definitely reminiscent of our favorite 90s love teams such as Claudia Barretto and Rico Yan. It doesn’t hurt that they also look great together too!

Before pairing up, the two have been going on their separate journeys as young stars, with Belle making her breakout role in Four Sisters Before The Wedding and Donnie even pairing up with other actresses.

Their upcoming project together will be in their first film together, Love Is Color Blind

Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin

Though they might give off Kathyrn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla vibes at first glance, Andrea and Seth are this generation’s couple to watch out for with their hold on social media and undeniable chemistry.

As a regular character in Andrea’s strong TikTok account, the couple has also treated fans with their acting skills in the music video for “Binibini” by OPM artist Zack Tabudlo.

Their next project will be through the ABS-CBN series Saying Goodbye which is about the “romance of Elise (Brillantes) and Ricky (Fedelin), an unlikely match brought together by their shared passion for music and adventure.”

Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara

Everyone’s got their eyes on this new showbiz pair-up – and we can see why!

Serving as co-stars in the GMA series I Left My Heart In Sorsogon, Mavy and Kyline have kept mum about their real relationship score, but a few Instagram posts seem to tell of their “special friendship.”

Mavy opened the floodgates back in June 2021 when he posted a close-up shot of Kyline’s dimples with the caption, “her. her smile. her dimples. yup, that’s the post.”

They’ve been regularly posting each other on social media soon after.

Cassy Legaspi and Darren Espanto

Similar to her twin brother, Cassy has been private with her rumored relationship with singer Darren Espanto, though the two have revealed that they are “special” to one another.

Back when Darren was still in Canada, he and Cassy sent each other’s families boxes of pizza. Cassy also posted a huge bouquet of sunflowers that day, but didn’t specify who it was from.

Just this Halloween, they also spent the day together with Darren’s Squid Game outfit and Cassy in a matching red dress.
