With the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night just around the corner, here are the five most stylish candidates that surely got our attention.
The pageant world is notorious for having an overwhelming parade of all the beautiful gowns made by Filipino designers. In fact, on every coronation night, it’s always the evening gown segment that all of us are looking forward to watching. From how the long dress naturally flows to how the woman’s voluptuous figure is highlighted, you can’t deny that all these gorgeous gowns have a huge impact on how a candidate is perceived.
As fashion plays an important role in the branding of each candidate, it was only fitting for these women to always put their best fashionable stilettos forward. Together with their stylists, they would always see to it that their look is as beautiful as their alluring smiles. With this said, we noticed some ladies who really stood out amongst the sea of ravishing Miss Universe Philippines candidates, thanks to their distinct style, of course. So, here are five women who are definitely worth listing under our style radar, and you should, too.
Skelly Ivy Florida
The moment we saw Skelly Ivy Florida donning a Gaea sundress by Puey Quiñones, we were immediately intrigued. The Biliran province representative carries the dress with so much elegance already, so upon seeing her other photos, she was consistently exuding the same amount of energy.
Ever since she was playing on the court for DLSU, Michele Gumabao was already a woman who knows the true meaning of grit and passion. So, as she entered the queen’s court representing Quezon City, she was an indomitable force to be reckoned with. Proving that she is beyond the athletic, beautiful girl we have come to know, she shows us her own sophisticated fashion sense like a true beauty queen wearing a crisp white shirt paired with a tie-dye skirt by Noel Crisostomo.
Miss Universe Philippines Taguig Candidate Sandra Lemonon is the woman who’ll make everyone say, ooh la la. Although, it’s not because of her modelesque figure alone; rather it’s how her figure-fitting clothes make us wish we could all ace such a piece with totally no effort at all. Just take a look at her beguiling photo wearing a crystal-embellished corset gown by Anthony Ramirez—très chic!
While we normally see other candidates donning jumpsuits and platform heels, Miss Universe Philippines Davao candidate Alaiza Malinao begs to differ. She kept intact the laid-back style of a Davaoeña strolling around the metro in linen coordinates. And as a matter of fact, we love the idea of how she opted to team a pair of denim pants with a coral pink top with a long train by Puey Quiñones.
What we really admire about Apriel Smith is her versatility in fashion. The Cebu Province candidate can magnificently balance her style between street-ready fits and polished looks. She’s not afraid to take a fashion risk such as partnering a sneaker with a dress or even donning a full-on neon look such as this Yves Camingue coat and pants.
