MEGA BeautyCon 2021 Is All About Feeling Beautiful In Your Own Skin

From Manila Luzon’s beauty journey to Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and AC Bonifacio’s skin stories, here’s everything you missed on the much-awaited MEGA BeautyCon 2021.

When we said that MEGA BeautyCon 2021 is the place to be, we meant it. This year’s much-awaited Zoom event was one that not only provided us with insights about true beauty, but with lots of games and prizes too. Beauty and self-care brands present included Rexona, Cetaphil, Hey Pretty, Avignon Clinic, Ayumi, Bio Oil, and Pantene.

Hosted by Ayn Bernos, here’s everything you missed on MEGA BeautyCon 2021:

Feel Empowered

Starting the conference is Drag Queen Manila Luzon. “Beauty for me is the ability to create your own fantasy and live in it,” she said. Sharing about her first experience with makeup, Manila Luzon shared how going through her mother’s makeup drawer helped her feel more beautiful and empowered through the power of cosmetics. “Beauty is more of a feeling, than a look,” she said. “Being able to do drag has been one of the best things of my life.” Being a drag queen, Manila Luzon knows how makeup has the power to transform a person.

Gracing the MEGA cover in 2019, alongside Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Manila Luzon acknowledges how beauty standards have truly changed—and about time. At the end of her speech, the attendees all felt empowered through the drag queen’s stories and encouragement for everyone.

Feel Confident

Talking about feeling confident, 5 content creators—Bella Racelis, Bianca Gan, Jhaz Advincula, Bea Marin, Ry Velasco—get into an open discussion regarding their recent struggles. But, with the help of Rexona, these 5 ladies are ready to slay everyday. They all shared their advice to other women who may be struggling with feeling confident. Bella said, “be kind to yourself, and always try to be the best version of yourself.” On the other hand, Bea and Bianca believe in staying true to yourself, and not thinking about what other people say. Jhaz advices, “Feel good about yourself. It stars with self-care and self-love.” While Ry encourages the attendees to find what works for them.

What True Beauty Means

Hosted by our managing editor Trina Epilepsia Boutain, celebrities Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and AC Bonifacio talk about the skin struggles they encountered during the pandemic. Bianca shares how the pandemic has led her to try so many different products at the same time that caused her to breakout. Thankfully, with the help of her trusted dermatologist, she started a skin reset routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Cetaphil Moisturizer, and Cetaphil Eye Cream. Through this simplified routine, the mom of two got to redeem her healthy and glowing skin.

For AC Bonifacio, it’s all about keeping things simple. Having experienced breakouts and maskne during the pandemic, the young star turned to Cetaphil’s Bright Healthy Radiance line to help her skin. She used the cleanser, moisturizer, and toner to keep her skin glowing. For her body, the dancer used Cetaphil’s body bar and lotion. During the segment, she was asked which one product can she not live without—she chose Cetaphil’s day cream. While Bianca Gonzalez-Intal opted for  the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

Feel Healthy Inside and Out

Reigning Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Hannah Arnold also joined the BeautyCon, alongside Avignon Clinic. Sharing how Avignon Clinic helped her prepare for her coronation night, Hannah Arnold said, “Being in a beauty pageant, I do get judged for my physical appearance. With the treatments [with Avignon Clinic], it helped me become more confident.” One of her favorite treatments is the Em Sculpt Neo, a non invasive treatment that uses RF and HIREM technology to help sculpt and contour the body. Alongside the beauty queen is Avignon Clinic CEO Chris Cachuela, and Dr. Jeff. Modernizing wellness solutions, Avignon Clinic is all about making treatments more accessible and affordable for every Filipino.

Slaying In Sleeveless

Celebrity stylist and Fashion and Beauty editor for Nylon Manila, Lyn Alumno also made an appearance for a styling master class. She talked about her style evolution—how she went from covering up to being confident in her own skin. “Rexona really helped me become the confident person I am today,” the stylist said. Talking about Nylon covers and style stars, Lyn Alumno said “We just have to be bold and fearless with the choices that we make.”

She also played a virtual bring me with Bella, Bea, Jhaz, Ry, and Bianca. The content creators all styled themselves and showed how they are slaying in sleeveless with Rexona. Lyn Alumno also answered questions from attendees regarding fashion and styling tips.

Power Of Beauty Transformations

Talking about the transformative power of beauty is MEGA’s Managing Editor Trina Epilepsia Boutain. Here, she talked about her beauty journey and how makeup has helped her throughout her teenage years and now as an editor for Philippines’ best fashion magazine. She ended her talk with an encouraging message, saying “The next time you’re buying make up, skincare, or getting a haircut to make yourself feel better, come with an open mind and an open heart and understand that at the end of the day, hair will grow, makeup can be washed off, nail extensions can be removed, and it’s still you. With makeup and without makeup, it’s all you.”
