They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Like it or not, the kids of the presidential hopefuls are now also in the spotlight. These days, a quick search on the internet—specifically social media—will yield results on who they are and perhaps a glimpse of their lives and that of their parents.
Senator Panfilo Lacson
Under the Reporma political party, senator Panfilo Lacson, filed his candidacy on October 6 alongside fellow senator Tito Sotto as his running mate. Senator Ping Lacson is currently married to Alice de Perio-Lacson and has four sons, namely: Panfilo Lacson Jr., Jeric Lacson, Ronald Jay Lacson, and Reginald Lacson. Most of his children have tried their hand at politics and are currently helping their father campaign for the upcoming elections.
Mayor Isko Moreno
Under the Aksyon Demokratiko political party, Mayor Francisco Domagoso, a.k.a. Isko Moreno, filed his candidacy on October 4 alongside Dr. Willie Ong as his running mate. Mayor Isko is currently married to Diana Ditan–Domagoso and has five kids, namely: Vincent Patrick, Frances Diane, Joaquin Andre, Franco, and Drake. His children are fairly young. The eldest being 23 years old, while the youngest being 9 years old.
Senator Manny Pacquiao
Under the Progressive Movement for the Devolution of Initiatives political party, Senator Manny Pacquiao filed his candidacy on October 1 alongside Lito Atienza as his running mate. Senator Manny is currently married to Jinkee Pacquiao and has five kids, namely: Israel, Emmanuel Jr., Mary Divine Grace, Michael, and Queen Elizabeth. Unlike most children of politicians, his children are more high profile, having dabbled in showbiz through musical performances, TikTok, and TV guestings.
Ex-Senator Bongbong Marcos
Under the Federal Party of the Philippines, Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, filed his candidacy on October 6. Former Senator Bongbong is currently married to Louise Araneta-Marcos and has three kids, namely: Ferdinand “Sandro” Alexander, William Vincent, and Joseph Simon. His eldest son, Sandro, is now gunning for a position in the government as well. He currently filed his candidacy for the 2022 elections of the first district representative of Ilocos Norte.
Vice President Leni Robredo
On October 7, Vice President Leni Robredo filed as an independent candidate in the 2022 Presidential elections. Vice President Leni is a widower; her husband was Jesse Robredo, former Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, who was part of a tragic plane crash. They have three girls, namely: Jessica Marie “Aika”, Jillian Therese, and Janine Patricia. Her kids are topnotch students with Aika Robredo even landing a scholarship in the prestigious Harvard university.
Senator Bato dela Rosa
Under the Philippine Democratic Party–People’s Power party, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, filed his candidacy on October 8. Senator Bato is currently married to Nancy Comandante and has two kids, namely: Rock and Macky. His children have been actively supporting him in his campaign as president.
