Mark Bumgarner Redefines The Modern Bride In His Latest Collection

By

Mark Bumgarner reimagines the modern bride with simplicity at its core for his newest bridal collection.

If there’s a new normal, there’s also a new bride. The unparalleled pandemic has altered the way people live in their daily lives, where we started prioritizing things that are much more essential for our everyday survivability such as sanitary kits, hardware tools, and most importantly food. In short, we are going back to the good ol’ simple life.

Now, the thing about the fashion industry is that it has proven time and time again that it will always adapt. It’s in their DNA that when they’re hit by an unfortunate crisis, they look for new alternatives on how can they effectively navigate through it. And the most challenging field in the world of couture as of now is actually bridalwear.

Due to country lockdowns and social isolation required by governments, weddings of all sorts are postponed indefinitely. Although this may be, as various community quarantines are slowly  being lifted in some areas, couples are given the chance to continue their marriage through an intimate wedding.

So, with this understanding of the consumer’s sudden shift of behavior and change in lifestyle, Mark Bumgarner sought to define what a true modern bride would prefer to wear for her special day. He believes that “even as we continue to face an unprecedented global health crisis, love should not be canceled and [neither] is the bride’s dream [to] walk down the aisle.”

May it be an intimate gathering, a mini ceremony, or a civil wedding with family and friends, it doesn’t mean there is less to celebrate. With a simpler aesthetic, Mark Bumgarner’s “Bridal Concept 2.0” is a collection of affordable ready-to-wear dresses and pantsuits that cater to this new kind of bride.

Here’s the most interesting part of his collection—it’s not all white. While it’s only expected that a bridal collection would have the quintessential white wedding gowns, Mark made it a point to cater to those brides who would want to add more personality and flavor.

After all, with the majority of couples getting hitched during quarantine opting for a simple, intimate civil wedding rather than maxi-weddings, there’s a challenge on how do couples stand out and make their day unique. So, apart from the immaculate silk white gowns, we are presented with pieces in vibrantly rich hues of blues, pinks, and greens impeccably exuding the right amount of color we truly need in our lives today.
