Head up, Manny Pacquiao! The Filipino boxing icon gave it his all to try and reclaim the WBA super welterweight title from Yordenis Ugas. Every Filipino and boxing enthusiast all over the world were glued to their screens this morning as the fight ensued. While the fight ended with Ugas as the winner, every Filipino is still beaming with pride.
Held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, this match against was Pacquiao’s first fight since 2019, when he won against Keith Thurman. Pacquiao originally held the title, until it was stripped due to inactivity and was awarded to Yordenis Ugas. Determined to win it back, he has been religiously training with his coach Freddie Roach, and has been sharing snippets from his training sessions on his Instagram page.
While Manny Pacquiao might not have been successful in reclaiming the title, it is inspiring to see how he fought hard and gave it his all.
