Manila Luzon is back and badder than ever with a new animated, musical heist adventure.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 may have ended a long time ago, but fans are still upset at the early elimination of their favorite drag queen Manila Luzon, proclaiming she has been robbed of victory. And it wasn’t the first time it happened too! She and her teammate for All Stars 1, Latrice Royale, were sent home early in the show despite their outstanding performance. But that hasn’t stopped the dynamic duo from taking over the world and getting the attention of millions of people. After the release of their 2012 hit, “The Chop,” Team Latrila is back together for another chart-topping revenge song, “Robbed” from Manila’s latest album “Rules!”
The fabulous tandem is going all out! Taking cues from Disney’s Maleficent and DC’s Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) where the villains are the protagonists, “Robbed” follows Manila and Latrice on a technicolor heist to get their hands on Drag Race prizes. Manila’s maniacal plan includes having Latrice take down an armored truck of BYS Cosmetics, getting more than a year’s worth of makeup. As the real-life exclusive sponsor of this ingenious cartoon video, BYS Cosmetics Philippines supports Manila Luzon to be her silly, sexy, stylish, and empowered self.
The fun adventure-filled video also has Easter eggs for RuPaul’s Drag Race fans! Keep your eyes peeled for Manila’s All Stars talent painting, a Lil’ Pound Cake missile, a sculpture of Mimi Imfurst picking up India Ferrah, and more.
The fully animated heist is created by Mac Kerman and the talented team of animators from Chaos Emporium, Inc. Expanding this drag cartoon universe are LGBTQ superhero comic book writer, Joe Glass, and illustrator, Gavin Mitchell. The two creatives joined Team Latrila to create a short digital countdown comic outlining the fictional events leading up to the video’s beginning.
The catchy tunes and colorful graphics of the music video are more than enough to turn the attention of people once again to one of the most successful and most popular drag queens to ever compete in RuPaul’s Drag Race, Manila Luzon, and her partner in crime, Latrice Royale.
