This May, the iconic and fresh-faced Kim Jones graces the cover of MEGA Magazine. With Arizona’s Antelope Canyon as her backdrop, the beauty is a vision in her earthy pieces and platinum hair. One other thing, in particular, stands out–her beauty look.
Makeup artist Xeng Zulueta is the mastermind behind Kim’s beauty look. When asked about her inspiration for the cover shoot, Xeng shares that she was fueled by both the beauty of Antelope Canyon and her subject.
“We were surrounded by snow and rich terra-cotta colored soil with hints of mauve. The whole scenery reminded me of Kim herself with her edgy platinum hair and her beautiful features. She doesn’t need much to make an impact,” Xeng shares.
A closer look at Kim’s makeup shows us that she is wearing a modern monochrome eye, lip and cheek in mauve and mixed in terra-cotta.
For her hair, on the other hand, Xeng wanted there to be a certain element of effortlessness. “For her hair, we wanted a ‘woke up like this’ kind of undone. I used a heavy duty wax and a wide tooth comb to flip her hair to one side and tamed all the baby hairs away with a tiny brush,” Xeng says. This definitely added to the overall cool that Kim already exudes.
