The biggest store in the country for one of the biggest brands in the world? Seems about right. With its 665-sqm space, Louis Vuitton Philippines unveils its newest and biggest store in the country situated in the newest luxury wing of Ayala Malls Makati, Greenbelt 3. Opening to the public today, here’s what you can expect when you visit:

Filipino Heritage

With its history in trunk making, it’s no surprise that Louis Vuitton was inspired by travel. What makes this store different though, is its nod to Filipino heritage that can be seen throughout the space. It was inspired by the woven heritage in the country spread across its 7,107 islands—each thread a symbol of the country’s diverse history, culture, and aspirations. Wall accents and artworks are also reminiscent of the Filipino habi, or traditional weave-making. Further, the ceiling panels are crafted from raffia and saguran, while bamboo teardrop lamps made by local craftsmen are showcased in the women’s leather goods area. Capiz-inspired sliding doors are also featured in the private lounge, and rugs featuring complex tribal tattoo designs will also be seen throughout the feeling areas. Giving a feel of a tropical cabana, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Filipino designers and sisters Stephanie Kienle Gonzalez and Jessica Kienle Maxwell of Philux to create this beautiful space.

Love For Art

When you enter Louis Vuitton’s newest store, one of the things you’ll notice first is all the artwork hung around the walls. Filipino artworks made with strips of acrylic, handwoven abaca polyester fabric, and a mix of cord, rope, and tapestry are featured throughout. Colorful artworks by international artists such as French painter Zelie Belcour and Portuguese painter Carla Sa Fernandes is also showcased. A centerpiece of metal on wood by English painter Russell Frampton is also displayed prominently in the store, while Belcour’s artwork is displayed in the private lounge.
