If you’re a true style savant and you’ve been on the lookout during countless of fashion weeks—whether it’s local or global—then you know that the MEGA Fashion Week 2018 was complete with all things fashion. From all the breathtaking collections of our featured designers to all the stylish attendees, MEGA didn’t hold back on producing a spectacular week-long fashion soireé. So, before everything goes fashionably crazy for the much-awaited fashion week this year, here’s a little reminder of what went down and perhaps, tease you as what to expect this year.

Now, who’s up for a trip down memory lane?

Fashion In Full Force

Last years’ fashion week was a week-long affair featuring collections from renowned designers and a home-grown brand. No two days were ever the same as each collection was evocative of the designer’s brilliant individuality. An impressive kickstart to the festivities was none other than Portuguese designer Ricardo Preto. Setting the standards for the whole week, he highlighted his signature sophisticated twist in the world of old school glamour.

Continuing the fashion momentum, Anthony Ramirez opted to paint the runway with vibrant colors as he showcased an awe-inspiring LGBTQI+ themed show. Jerome Salaya Ang, on the other hand, transported everyone to the Renaissance era as he showcased his 37-piece collection titled, “La Primavera.”

Neric Beltran

Designer to the stars Neric Beltran also did his first-ever runway show, featuring his collection aptly titled, “Celebrity.” So, cue the sparkles, pearls, crystals, and intricate beadworks, one look after another was accompanied by the love renditions of hit music makers, IV of Spades.

Finally bringing the MEGA Fashion Week 2018 to its climax, local brand F&H took everyone to the fashion jungle to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Tropical plants framed the stage where models together with the brand ambassadors strutted down the runway to the rhythmic beats in its collection called, “Stay Wild.”

Rosenthal Tee

Following the infectious energy of F&H, the next day’s featured designer, Rosenthal Tee, effortlessly captured the hearts of everyone as she relived the era of dance. And wonderfully capping-off the week was the collaborative capsule of Avel Bacudio and Matteo Guidicelli. The moment their show started, they immediately transported us to the famed late-night interactions of New Yorkers.

The Beauty In Drama

Given that all the designers have their own unique aesthetics, each runway show was without a doubt extravagant in their own way. But while fashion was the focal point, the beauty department wasn’t left behind with extraordinary, ethereal, enchanting looks.

From sparkly make up to bejeweled masks, the beauty looks were closely coordinated with every collection. And to achieve that, BYS cosmetics took care of each model, muse, and brand ambassador to get the distinct look based from the designer’s beauty direction, as well as the technical styling of The Color Bar for the hair.

Star-Studded Affair

Perhaps it’s safe to say that by now, any MEGA event won’t be complete without any celebrity sighting. With last year’s event, the stars definitely aligned as countless stylish guests and personalities arrived to witness the designer’s marvellous collections.

We witnessed the likes of Anne Curtis, Colleen Garcia, JC Santos, Victor Basa, and Georgina Wilson, who all stood out in their street-ready ensembles. And if that’s not enough, some of industry’s biggest names actually walked the runway to close our featured designer’s shows.

Vice Ganda Neric Beltran Mega Fashion Week

As Neric Beltran’s show progressed, continually giving everyone an exhilarating experience, his muse for the night, Vice Ganda, emerged on the runway looking stunning in a see-through form-fitting dress with crystal embellishments and punked up Renaissance hair.

Then, part of F&H’s anniversary show, the home-grown brand also revealed their new brand ambassadors: Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata. Edward looked dashing in a navy blue bomber jacket over a green shirt, while Maymay looked exquisite in a red PVC corset over an oversized gray sweater. Finally, the show’s glittering cast was rounded out by the likes of Nadine Lustre, Mond Gutierrez, and Jess Wilson.

Rosenthal Tee, on the other hand, chose to close her show on a beautiful note with Lovi Poe. The star appeared on the catwalk in an elegant taffy pink beaded fringed gown. And of course, the Avel x Matteo show won’t be complete without the latter walking the runway. So, seizing the night before the week-long event ends, Avel closed the show with Janine Gutierrez and Matteo Guidicelli.

MEGA Fashion Week Holiday 2019 will start on September 24 to 28, at the One Canvas events place, Makati City.
