For years, Michael Kors has been known to champion the ultimate feminine sophistication. His designs radiate elegant sensibilities that beautifully translate from the runway and transform fashionable women everywhere. And if there’s anything that closely defines luxury, it’s New York.
For Fall 2018, Michael Kors is going bigger than ever and taking over the Big Apple tonight as he holds his runway show at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center. From the venue itself to the invitations and artwork, designed by legendary theater-poster artist James McMullan, the show celebrates the energy and creativity of the city that has long been the designer’s home and inspiration.
“I wanted the show to be a love letter to New York,” says Michael Kors. “I’m inspired by everything about the city—the electricity, the speed, the diversity, the individuality, and of course the art and food and fashion. So much of New York is iconic, from the architecture to the theater to the faces, and anyone who’s ever been here has their own New York story. For me to show at Lincoln Center, in a building designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen, with artwork specifically created by James McMullan—that’s a New York story I wanted to share with everyone.”
Of course this Valentine’s Day, you don’t have to jet-set all the way to New York to witness this sartorial spectacle. The Fall 2018 Michael Kors Collection runway show will be livestreamed direct from NYC to your screens right here on Megastyle.
