The first day of MEGA Fashion Week 2018 has finally arrived. Five home-grown designers, along with an international designer from Portugal, and a local retail brand are conquering the runway of MEGA Fashion Week to show their best pieces this season. But, more of that when we reach the latter part of the week.

For today, we have Ricardo Preto who is an exclusive designer for Rustan’s Men and Women, and U by Ricardo Preto for Rustan’s which are currently available at the stores. For his show tonight, Ricardo Preto is showcasing Self-Possession, imagining how the women of today are proud of who she is, and the road travelled to get there. Aside from highlighting bright and vibrant colors of blue, red, and green, Ricardo was able to reinvent classical silhouettes and shapes providing an effortless sophistication into every look.
Hours before the show, Ricardo Preto is hands-on in preparing his muses for the runway. He meticulously checks on each of his looks in his models.
As the models prepare for the runway, One Canvas Events Place here in Makati is also ready for the guests of this year’s MEGA Fashion Week.
The photo vignette is open for all guests to enjoy and to show their own ensemble for the night.
The family of the country’s retail tycoon, Rustan’s arrived in the event. Maritess Tantoco-Enriquez, daughter of the spouse and founders of Rustan’s Bienvenido Tantoco and Gliceria Rustia Tantoco, arrived at the show as well as Dina Arroyo-Tantoco, Donnie Tantoco, Crickette Tantoco, Camille Tantoco and the newly weds, Nicole Tantoco and Miko de los Reyes.
Finally, all the models lined up backstage just as the show begins, sporting all of Ricardo Preto’s latest collection.

Tomorrow, we will have our first home-grown designer in the show, Anthony Ramirez with his colorful and vibrant collection.
