Pioneering a grand partnership in the world of esports, the League of Legends collaboration with Louis Vuitton definitely deserves a spot in our closet.
The world of fashion and gaming merging together is nothing new anymore. With the existence of a relationship between the two the moment screen printing became a trend, you’ll notice countless of people wearing their favorite characters on their t-shirts—from Mario and Luigi, Pacman, to Donkey Kong. However, in the past year, it seems like there’s a slight shift happening.
As there is a growing array of skins available in various online games, more and more people are loving how they can dress up their chosen heroes as well. And a perfect example of this is League of Legends, an online multi-player game that has grown to become a global phenomenon as the most-played game.
With this growing interest, Louis Vuitton took the opportunity to become the first-ever fashion house to collaborate with esports organization Riot Games. And this partnership resulted in unveiling the game’s most prestigious skin designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections.
It featured Qiyana, also known as the Empress of the Elements. Reminiscent of recent silhouettes seen on the runway, the look combines a cropped top and high-waisted pants with signature Louis Vuitton accessories such as the Dauphine bag and Star Trail boots. Qiyana’s ring blade has also been reinterpreted with the emblematic Monogram and V-shaped ornaments.
After the successful launch of the most coveted skin in the world of esports, the storied French maison’s collaborative capsule with Riot Games is finally here. This time around, it’s not a skin for your hero; rather it’s for you.
This unprecedented capsule features unique and original references true to the universes of League of Legends and Ghesquière’s personal inspirations. It showcases a unique Monogram Louis Vuitton x League of Legends canvas, revisited across some of the label’s iconic and new bags including the Neverfull, Speedy or Boite Chapeau Souple, and a Bumbag among other styles.
And since this capsule started with Qiyana, the collection features a new signature inspired by the heroine’s emblematic ring blade. Hence, this transversal capsule collection showcases pieces where Qiyana’s ring blade or she alone is incorporated to the design—from a classic black tee to the Tambour Horizon Monogram Brown connected watch. And if you are able to get one, well, you’re what we call a true born gamer.
