Defining beauty has no right answer, but as for Laureen Uy, what’s essential is for every woman to always feel confident when it comes to their own beauty. The Megastyle September cover star makes sure that a smooth and flawless skin is the core of her beauty look. In fact, Laureen simply used her everyday makeup and skincare routine—with a little elevation.

There’s no denying that her skin has experienced dark spots during quarantine, which she herself talks in detail for her cover story. Without having to divert far from her usual skincare routine, Laureen prepped her skin with her trusted go-to skincare products. “It’s important to be really consistent with your skincare routine,” says Laureen. “When it comes to choosing skincare products, I always look for a product that will target all my skin problems.” To treat her dark spots, she uses Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. She starts off with a deeply cleansed skin using Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

With very sensitive and dry skin, she always looks for a light moisturizer, which is still packed with hydrating properties. For a light and smooth effect, she combined Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream with her foundation. Maximizing her highlights, she added drops of oil on areas where she wanted it extra dewy for the light to bounce beautifully on. (A true fan of the brand, she also admits that her all-time cult-favorite from Kiehl’s has to be the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which she really swears by.)

In creating a blend of subtle yet statement eyes, she used Huda Beauty Topaz Obsessions Palette, which is a mix of glitters and suede, orange and brown shades. These colors absolutely complement her morena skin. Since she didn’t want her eyes to look heavily dark, she opted only for a sparkle of glitters. A light stroke of 3CE brown eyeliner accentuated her eyes, giving it a soft and light effect. Skipping the false eyelashes, she only curled her lashes with Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara Waterproof that does its best in making lashes look long and thick.

As most no-makeup makeup look merits a glossy and plumper lips, she coated the Sunnies Face Fluffmatte in the shade On Repeat with Happy Skin x Disney A Whole New World Cooling Lip Gloss for the first look. For the second look, she maintains the two lip products but added Issy & Co. Lip Mousse in the shade Romcom.

Seamlessly creating a natural flush, Laureen admits that she’s also a fan of cream-based blushes. Even when structuring her face, she opted for light contours. She used Fenty Beauty Sticks in the shades Truffle and Rum for contour and highlight, respectively. Adding an ethereal glow, she luminizes her skin with Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Prosecco Pop.

If you will hop into her vlog, you’ll be welcomed with beauty videos that introduce, which products are best for morena skin. Laureen couldn’t hide the fact that creating this beauty look was a total pressure. “I’m just very thankful that my skin cooperated with me,” adds Laureen. Summing up the products used, it came to her surprise that she was able to only use no more than 15 products for the entire shoot.

“Skincare is really something worth investing in,” Laureen Uy reiterates. “It really gives you a different kind of confidence in yourself.” And based on the cover shoot alone, it was truly to marvel at, which drew compliments from photographer BJ Pascual, MEGA Digital Content Editor Angelo Ramirez de Cartagena, and creative director Vince Uy. See, she can totally pull off a beauty-focused makeup look as if it was professionally, and you know what, so can you, too.
