I’m personally not one to religiously practice a daily skincare routine. (A travesty, I know. However, I am actively working on it.) But I do know that face masks are proven to be a quick and effective skin pick-me-up. So, right after a week-long event where I wore full face make up on, I tried Kiehl’s latest formula for dry and dehydrated skin.
Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask
They say that Avocado is a great ingredient for skincare, because it’s rich with vitamins and minerals that support everything from lustrous hair to luminous complexion.
Kiehl’s Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask is thick and creamy, much like a real avocado. In fact, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say that the formula looks like exactly like a ripe avocado. And upon using it, I had a sudden craving for guacamole…But that had to wait for at least 15 more minutes.
The instructions were quite simple: scoop a generous amount, warm it up between your fingers, and spread it across your face. Wait 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
While doing this, I couldn’t help but notice how therapeutic the whole process was. The avocado-like chunks were satisfying to squash on my face, and the buttery application was so relaxing that I couldn’t stop doing it. Plus, the nourishing ingredients in the mask can take away any dullness or dryness induced by stress or a lack of hydration from your current routine.
It’s the perfect mask to relieve your stress and I’m glad I tried it.
The Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask uses the following key ingredients to provide specific benefits to the skin:
1. Avocado Fruit Extract
Avocado extracts from fruit pulp are used to revitalize and restore the skin. The extract is obtained by grinding the fruit and using a sophisticated filtration system to blend it with Kiehl’s favorite skin-loving olive-derived Squalane.
2. Avocado Oil
The nourishing ingredient is a rich source of unsaturated essential fatty acids, including a potent blend of nourishing omegas, deeply hydrating the skin, as well as boosting barrier function.
3. Evening Primrose Oil
Kiehl’s chemists primarily source the Evening Primrose Oil from Europe, and are able to extract the precious oil by cold pressing its seeds. This fragrant yellow flower contains a naturally high source of unsaturated fatty acids that help play a role in the formula to improve skin quality.
While it isn’t necessary, Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is best paired with the face mask. I can’t explain why, but the tight and creamy texture of the eye cream made me feel like I had an instant facelift.
According to Kiehl’s, the face mask will give the best results when used thrice a week.
