Jo Malone London houses one of its best-selling scents in a special edition fluted bottle.
Fragrances are inarguably an incomparable category in beauty. As mentioned, it’s more personal, more intimate, but it’s also incredibly influential. Scents are intrinsically linked to our memories. A whiff can immediately evoke our emotions, or even make you remember your loved ones. It also can mentally transport you to a place or time. If anything, fragrances are magic in a bottle.
The influence of fragrances is often left unsaid, however, Jo Malone London’s recent fete truly made us appreciate how distinctively special it is from others. In homage to English Pear & Freesia, the brand was able to bring the entire scent experience to life. As they return to the beauty event sphere, Jo Malone London proved that its soirees are nothing short of enchanting.
The World Of English Pear & Freesia
Just before we entered the venue, an English Pear & Freesia-themed Jo Malone London cab greeted us at the entrance. By fair means, that alone was stamped in any beauty girl’s core memory. However, the real interactive experience began the moment we stepped inside the event space. A gigantic pear welcomed us alongside the team’s warmest greetings. The front area was fully dressed in pink and even featured a scent library with the brand’s main star of the day.
An enthralling garden transported every guest inside the world of English Pear & Freesia. A mock-up of a pear tree filled the space alongside the long line of flowers that were beautifully arranged on the table. Meanwhile, a selection of curated collections including a bottle of English Pear & Freesia occupied the main stage.
Something Old, Something New
At the heart of the event, the Jo Malone London team reintroduced a line-up classic: English Pear & Freesia. The fragrance is adorned with a melange of fruity-floral accords comprising notes from fresh ripe pears, bright white freesias, amber, patchouli and woods. A new approach to the timeless scent, the brand reimagined the English Pear & Freesia in a special edition fluted bottle of cologne.
“Like many of our fragrances, it’s incredibly evocative: when you smell it, you’re instantly transported to an orchard where juicy fruit mingles with blooming flowers. There’s also something unexpected about the combination of key ingredients, which is another very Jo Malone London trait, and it’s got that freshness and elegance we’re known for. Ultimately, it’s just such an appealing and wearable fragrance, which is something all our fragrance strives to be.” Global Head of Fragrance, Celine Roux shared in a press release.
Scent pairing is tailored to Jo Malone London’s branding. Often, this technique is used to make a scent personalized to you and your liking. To give the English Pear & Freesia a new character, the brand recommended a series of combinations for consideration. A standout includes the main star’s Peony & Blush concoction that rendered both to a balance of powdery-floral scent.
The Afternoon Tea Time
The event was capped off with a feast prepared by renowned chef, Margarita Fores. Each meal was inspired by the English Pear & Freesia scent, however, the almond-crusted mille-feuille, smoked kesong puti-mascarpone foam was announced as the crowd favorite. Meanwhile, celebrities, models, make-up artists, influencers and editors were seen around the events area, posing for the camera and trying out the new fragrance.
Also seen in attendance were personalities such as Kylie Versoza, Chie Filomeno, Valeen Montenegro, Leila Alcasid, Sandy Riccio, Tessa Valdes, Hannah Pangilinan, Jelly Eugenio, Anthea Bueno, RB Chanco, Christina Collings, Alana Vicente, Marj Maroket and Miss Nate.
